Why is macaroni & cheese considered “southern cooking”? In the restaurant advertisements or reviews I read, all of the restaurants that feature southern cooking all have macaroni & cheese. Why is this “southern”?
It’s not. Macaroni cheese (as we call it over in the UK) is working class food.
My wife’s from Oregon and the restaurants that serve it there are blue collar, working guy type places. I’m British and it’s the same over here.
A few answers.
My son and I consider it “food of the gods.”
