Mad hippies and their Border Collies at the dog park

Naw, for pure, unadulterated kindness, you can’t beat my mutt. He’s a mix of poodle, terrier, and a number of other small, wussy dogs. He’s dumb as mud, but he’ll love anybody who will walk within 2 feet of him. He’s also loyal as all get out. We got him from the Animal Rescue League, and haven’t regretted it even once. Take your uber-dogs, my mutt is all I need.

With your permission, I may get this engraved on a brass plaque and hang it above my bed.

Wow, and here I thought we were just lazy, dope-smoking, nature loving, flow-dancing louts!

I’d heap scorn myself, but I know from much lurking that Scylla is far too sensitive to survive. BTW, it’s “opprobrium” in this language - shameful!

Ah yes, and it is certainly the BC who owns the hippy, for we are the ones who have realized that one cannot “own” a pet, but rather is the caretaker…

Maybe I have heatstroke just having been outside, Cyberhippy, but that post of yours didn’t make any sense to me.

As for Opprobrium, shrug. I’m no copy editor.
mouthbreather:

Go for it, said one to cyberdude while you’re at it

I hate hippies.

Fuckin’ hippies… <steaming>

The posters here who make the point that the animal is the owner/caretaker of the human are right you know. After all:

1.Who goes to a JOB to WORK and earn the money to buy the food?
2.Who cleans up the litterbox/yard?
3.Who stays home and eats/sleeps/plays all day?

Understandable, I was just mocking your mock scorn. The ‘sensitivity’ comment was in reference to your bit about hippies being “insensitive louts”.

The “shameful” comment was as much in reference to the meaning of “opprobrium” as it is a silly way of commenting on your use of the term in your previous comments.

And, the last point was well supported by Baker:

Oh, and bernse? I love you too…
