Mad Mad House 4/1 SPOILERS

Was it wrong that during Art’s suspension ritual I got a little turned on?

Um, anyway, glad Tim is gone. I’ve disliked him from day one and I was happy to see the door hit him in the ass on the way out. He brought new levels of meaning to the term “ham-fisted” in his naked suck-ups to the Alts this week. “The first thing I’d do with the money is throw a big barbeque!” I’m sure Avocado in particular was impressed by his plan to celebrate a victory with a big plate of roasted flesh…

I’m really hoping that Fiona in some future episode will reveal herself to be something other than a total idiot subject to such transparent manipulation. Ideally I’d love there to be a scene where Eric and Noel get called into a room with Fiona, who lets them know that she’s been watching their machinations against Nichole on a secret monitor, but alas I think Fiona actually is as dumb and easily played as we are seeing.

I think I’ve said this before, but it bears repeating.

I hope Fiona is watching the show and feeling like The World’s Biggest F**king Idiot.

Yea gods, I can not STAND that woman. The total blindness to anything that doesn’t fit neatly in with her views, the pathetic attempts to be all bitch goddess, the wannablessedbeness of her practices… I almost pissed myself when she said “When I drop my dagger…” AUGH. We do NOT treat ritual tools that way!!!

And I have to add: that’s some Christian Charity that Loana’s demonstrating.

It’s not wrong, Otto. What was a little inappropriate was the look on Don’s face when they were doing the initial hook insertions. As the weeks go by, I find myself really drawn to Art and Avacado, who appear to actually be living their beliefs, and increasingly repelled by Fiona and Don, who appear to be living charictures. I’d like to see more personal interactions with Ta’Shia so I can figure out where she is on the spectrum.

Is Don the jackass vampire? What a pathetic, whiny excuse for “alternative”. Yes, let’s bitch about someone being fake with those teeth of yours. The “live and let live” attitude of the others is admirable, his attempts at domination and manipulation are disgusting. I mock him every chance I get.

Well, to be charitable, she didn’t I don’t think actually dropped it. I took drop to mean like dropping the checkered flag, where it’s lowered but doesn’t fall to the ground.

I believe that would be called “blood lust.”

I never liked Don. Fiona I have grown to dislike just because she’s such a ninny. Ta’shia seems enough like the real deal that I’m good with her. Art’s great, but I still think sticking giant round rocks into your earlobes to distend them is silly, but it doesn’t hurt anyone but him so who cares? Avocado seems like he’s the least “Alt” in that his “naturism” seems like a secondary effect of just being a centered person in general. If only he’d chosen to name himself after some other fruit…

Don is using this show to take his symbolic revenge on everyone who ever gave him a swirly in junior high.

Otto, I don’t think you can limit it to junior high. I’d put good money down that he’s gotten a swirly in the last 48 hours.

There was a power failure last night so we missed it, and worse, they’re not reairing this episode on Tuesday or any other day according to the scfi channel’s schedule :frowning: So Tim, huh? Finally!!

Anyone want to give a couple of sad viewers the blow-by-blow?

We open with the shocked aftermath of Bonnie’s expulsion. The guests decide that she was a “security blanket” for them and so the Alts removed her, but since she seemed happy about it they’re happy.

Eric continues to work Fiona to get Nichole expelled. He actually refers to it as “Operation Get Nichole Off” which I don’t think as a name he quite though through. He and Noel (is it Noel? The janitor) chortle in the garden about it.

Art does a “suspension ritual” as a showcase. Two assistants put about a half-dozen hooks through his back. Don looks intrigued at the possibility of blood. Art is then suspended by the hooks. He then has Nichole join him, holding her in his arms as he dangles. This earns Nichole Art’s respect as they bond in mid-air.

Eric attacks Nichole again, this time in front of Ta’Shia. Loana (damn if I can remamber how she spells her name) joins in. In interview Nichole is like “some people love me, some people hate me, some people love to hate me, there’s nothing new in this house” but she breaks down in tears. She and Ta’Shia go off for some meditation. Loana runs off to Fiona and snitches on Nichole. Apparently Nichole said something about being a witch at one point and Fiona took it to mean that Nichole was interested in learning the craft, but Nichole later said that wasn’t the case and Fiona got so pissed about it she almost had a facial expression.

Tim tells Art that for $100,000 he, Tim, would dangle on hooks too. Art says in interview that he thinks Tim isn’t getting it.

The trial is Fiona’s. Witches do a lot of cord magic, so the trial is to work in pairs to un-knot some cords, grab a dagger off a rock and place it on Fiona’s altar. Only one of the pair can place the dagger so the pair has to decide for itself who will place it and win immunity. Tim and Nichole. Loana and Eric, and Noel and Titsy the ex-stripper are the pairs. Loana and Eric win and do rock-paper-scissors to determine that Loana will place the dagger. Fiona remarks, “the only one who didn’t need immunity got it.” Noel and Titsy didn’t get even one knot untied.

Tim makes a point of going to each of the Alts and telling them the first thing he’d do with the money if he wins is throw a big barbecue and invite all of the Guests. The Alts, oddly, are unimpressed.

At Meal, Nichole leads the “family prayer” and says something about how glad she is for the happy times they have at Meals. Fiona jumps down her throat because not all Meals have been happy ones. They go back and forth some more and Nichole manages to make it through a confrontation without bawling.

The Alts and Loana retire for deliberation. Nichole’s ability not to cry for once impresses Avocado and Fiona. After being told not to speak until spoken to, Loana still pipes up and gets rebuked by Avocado.

Tim gets voted off, three to one (for Titsy the Stripper, from Ta’Shia) to one (I’ve forgotten who gave the necklace to whom). Tim leaves, complaining in voiceover that he wasn’t given the clean slate he was promised last week.

Scenes from next week include news of a “shocking twist” in which “alliances will be shattered.” It appears from the website that the twist is the Guests are going to have to start making “pleas” to the Alts not to eliminate them, leaving the Guests free to backstab pretty much at will.

Did I leave anything out?

Oh, and I’d still check out Tuesday night. For some odd reason Sci Fi doesn’t seem to list the repeats. Last week my on-screen TV Guide didn’t list the Tuesday repeat but it was on.

Nichole received Don’s necklace. He turned to give it to Loana, who looked like a deer in headlights for a moment, before he turned back saying “Oh right… you have immunity.” His comment to Nichole was, roughly, “I want to eliminate a sort of psychological cat fight going on between two people.”

Did anyone else notice that for all Don’s excitement (and licking his lips eeeeeeewwwwww), Art didn’t bleed at all? Interesting.

You’re right, Otto. Fiona didn’t drop the dagger in the manner in which I was fearing she would, but she did lower it rather quickly to the table and at that point I looked away for fear she was going to play gavel or something.

Spoiler speculation for next week…

Fiona disapproves of something Don does, and gets her panties in a wad that he didn’t listen to her. Previews imply that Don draws blood from the guests and drinks it. If so, then gods help me, I may have to back Fiona. Temporarily. It would NOT be a long-term thing.

They’re airing mini-series all this month, and next week Ultraviolet is airing in the spot Mad Mad House would be rerun in usually. I’ve been wanting to see Ultaviolet, but not at the sacrifice of something I’ve been watching already. Oh well.

Eric. Is a bitch. Nichole isn’t, really, much better, but Eric is a bitch.

Tim is an idiot. Why the hell would he think that was a good thing to say to Art? And the barbeque thing was so utterly transparent.

Art’s ritual… Owowowowowowowowow!

Owowowow!

Ow!

::Ahem:: Although I do respect the man after it.
ow

Fiona’s challenge was kinda lame, but the team-until-the-end aspect was a neat twist. Eric is still a bitch.

Don just grates on me more and more every episode. I’ve grown to actively dislike him, and it looks like he’s just going to get worse.

BTW, could someone catch me up on what happened last week? I missed it, and Space doesn’t reair the episodes.

Not that I didn’t already respect him. He’s always been my second favourite Alt (behind Avacado).

Another thought on Eric. Talking about how he was playing the ‘puppet master’. I’ve a feeling this will turn around and bite him in the end. I’m not sure how, yet, but… Well, I guess all I can say is I believe in karma.

I think Eric is the Boston Rob of this show. And I like him. Especially now that the Alts sent Bonnie packing. I hope Eric’s deceit wins it all.
