Random thoughts:
I thought it was interesting to watch the Alts reaction to Don’s ritual. All that talk about acceptance and open-mindedness and growth and yadda yadda BS, and it all falls to pieces when they’re confronted by something they don’t agree with. Even my darling Avocado. Which is odd, considering he has stated that he and Don go out together 2-3 times a week.
To be fair, I would have been laughing hysterically as well, but that’s mostly because it’s soooooo hard to watch people take themselves SO DAMN SERIOUSLY. Not a one of the three could have been a reasonably normal-looking person who happened to have fangs. No, they had to go in for the “I’m so goth I shit velvet” angle. And was that guy’s name ANTHRAX??? Tell me I mis-heard.
As far as the gloves… they’re as much for the stickee’s protection as the sticker. Don didn’t have time or the ability to sterilise his hands in between feeling up Noel and doing the needle stick. So while he really tossed the whole Universal Precautions thing right out the window by drinking the blood, he did prevent the stick site from becoming infected by wearing gloves and using what appeared to be a sterile needle and alcohol swab. Though I’d like to know where Don managed to find black latex gloves.
I agree completely about Fiona’s behavior. Just admit you acted like a schmuck, and you aren’t nearly as perfect as you think you are. And take off that goddamn beret… it looks stupid.
I didn’t like the “Noel is a drug addict” subplot. Hell, everyone takes cold medicine to sleep sometimes. Unless he was doing it every single night, it’s incredibly presumptuous of you to assume that he’s an addict. I REALLY didn’t like the fact that the Alts were sitting around the table discussing it, with Nichole (and probably others) standing on the other side of the door (if you look over- IIRC- Ta’Shia’s shoulder at one point, you can see Nichole through the open door, halfway turned toward the dining room).
Thoughts about Nichole and the necklace… I figured Fiona approved for one (or more) of a couple reasons: 1) Nichole didn’t take the obvious route and drop it on Eric, which would have made sense in an “I hate you/you hate me” way; 2) Nichole didn’t just go along with everyone else, she actually made a choice that went against what others wanted and may make her unpopular (remember that the main complaint the Alts have about Nichole is that she’s too much of a chameleon); 3) Nichole actually listened to the Alts, weighed what they had to say, and carried it through when they couldn’t; 4) Fiona was pleased that the leftover potion she had from getting Art and Avocado to vote out Tim worked on Nichole as well (remember that she was in favor of voting out Loana).
Did Don say the goody-goody line? For some reason I thought it was Avocado, which made the whole thing that much more potent (though it did decrease slightly in potency when coupled with the fact that he was swirling around a chocolate shake in a wine glass while saying it).
What I’d like to know is what the Alts think they proved with their little deception. Nichole was safe, otherwise she would have been overwhelmed with necklaces. The guests had to pick someone, and Loana set the wheels in motion by choosing Noel… the others simply followed suit. Sure, it’s basically shattered Noel and Eric’s alliance unless Eric comes up with some spectacular cover story, but the Alts specifically thanked the guests for letting them know exactly how they felt about one another. Huh?? The only one who really did well was Nichole, who didn’t give her necklace out of spite (like Noel to Eric) or cowardice (like Eric and Jamie to Noel) or random choosing (like Loana to Eric).
