Mad-Men: 4.04 "The Rejected" (open spoilers)

Alison also saw Roger leave his wife and MARRY Don’s last secretary, so the expectation that the encounter could result in more was not all that unreasonable, IMO, especially since Don’s already divorced.

I’m pretty sure that the television commercial business stayed in NYC throughout the 60s. It really wasn’t until much later that a big commercial industry built up in LA.

Pete took some research out of Don’s trash and tried to present the ideas to Lucky Strikes (“Tell people the danger of smoking is what makes it great!”). Besides the idiotic idea – no wonder Don hates the research shrinks – Pete had obviously gone into Don’s office to swipe the study.

However, Don fires Pete over it which does imply a somewhat casual hierarchy in Sterling Cooper v1.0 at the time since Don was head of Creative and Pete was supposedly in Accounts.

Man, I’m cool with this season but now I miss Season One. That was some great television. Time to hit Netflix for the DVDs again.

You’re confusing two different incidents.

The Lucky Strikes/research report in the trash thing happened in the pilot episode.

It was much later that Draper fired Pete for pitching a creative idea to the Bethlehem Steel guy … it was the episode in which they were listening to the Bob Newhart record.

Oops! See what I’m saying? It’s been too long!

Joan Harris, Head of Media? Yeah, that probally won’t happen, but it would be cool if it did.
