I can’t even remember what was going on in the last season or who all the players are at this point.
Also, Nurse Jackie returns tonight on SHO.

Didn’t Don lose his job after fouling up a big presentation? Might he be heading to California?
I like the show, but the episodes aren’t the kind that demand or reward repeat viewings.
That means I forget from one week/year to the next what’s going on.
I can honestly say that I don’t remember last season much at all.
I don’t have cable, so plan to do an iTunes season pass as usual. Perhaps I’ll watch the last two episodes of last season to get familiar again.
Writing that, I can honestly say, for whatever reason, that I’m not really looking forward to the new season.
I am somewhat looking forward to how they conclude Mad Men but it was never quite as essential viewing as critics made out. It’s ultimately a slow-burning, decent budget soap opera.
I care! I care! And so does my SO. What will befall Don Draper? I am not ashamed to admit I like the show either. I am also a Bon Jovi fan. And I was listening to Def Leppard the other day at work BY CHOICE I’ll have you know.
I care too, enough to be annoyed that this season is being stretched out over two years. I agree it’s a high-brow soap opera, and I’m just fine with that.
Here’s a useful refresheron where everyone was up to when we saw them last.
I do! I’m really excited and wish there hadn’t been such a long hiatus. But I do love this show, though I admit I hate seeing Don becoming the older generation. I loved it when he was the epitome of suave and coolness.
I don’t care. I gave up on the series halfway through last season and really dislike the idea of spreading out this season over two years. When it eventually shows up on Netflix I might watch the series finale.
Well, I care.
It isn’t a soap opera, though it has elements of a soap opera. (Like Peggy’s baby. there are people out there inventing long-winded scenarios about that damn baby. It’s done, it’s out of the picture, it won’t be coming back!)
I really enjoy reading Tom & Lorenzo the week after a show, it’s amazing the meaning they find in the fashion.
I completely busted up when I saw the picture of Pete Campbell. Absolutely perfect and priceless.
I… care? I plan on watching it but the jerking around of the audience for the sake of potential Emmy wins just pissed me off. I lost a lot of enthusiasm from that alone.
My wife is out tonight and I readily volunteered to wait until it was on OnDemand to see it with her, foregoing the “see it the moment it’s live” experience. A year or so ago that would have felt like a sacrifice, now it was just “eh, sure hon”.
I’ll be watching.
I’m interested in it. The quality hadn’t dropped off too much, and it seemed they were focusing less on the “Don Draper is an imposter” storyline that I find kind of boring.
Since I don’t have cable anymore, where and how soon can I go somewhere on the internet to watch tonight’s episode?
shrugs
Oh, man. Really? I thought this season was the end! I could’ve sworn this was the second half of the last season. Jesus, I guess I dreamt it.
Yes, I am ready for Mad Men to be over.
I have to ask my SO, but I think it was $23 for the full season from netflix, or was it I-tunes? Anyhow, we always watch it on Monday nights because that is the soonest we can get it.
It’s $22.99 for the Standard Definition Season Pass on iTunes.
I don’t have cable, so I go the Season Pass route as well. Sure, I’m a day behind, but no big deal.
I, also, care. I think Mad Men is a very well done show. While I do love (LOVE) Breaking Bad, I think Mad Men has it beat. I enjoy the slow moving narrative, which to me make the payoffs more interesting (I also enjoy soccer, so consider that as well ;)) Though, I lack cable anymore, so I have bought the season from Amazon.
I am as well annoyed that AMC seems to be doing this part 1 and part 2 of finale seasons. Though I guess it nets the viewer… a few extra episodes?
It’s available on Amazon Prime today for $1.99.
