Are there any Mad Men threads- nothing comes up in the search? I have recently NetFlixed it and become a fan (especially of the Don/Betty and Peggy storylines). I’ve heard other people on here reccommend it but I’d love to talk about it a little. If there are no other threads- feel free to discuss here (I’ve just finished the last of season 2 :)!)
Starts August 16th. The wife and I are burning through Season 2 ASAP in anticipation. Actually, I don’t know how I’ll settle for watching it once a week now instead of seeing whole seasons as a block.
I’ll be up for talking about it once I finish Season 2. Wouldn’t want to spoil it for me at this point.
I started last season’s finale thread under the title “Mad**-**Men”, note the hyphen. It shows up in search. You can also trying searching for things like “Peggy Olsen”, “Dick Whitman”, or “Sterling Cooper”.
Note: AMC is running a Mad Men Season 2 marathon on Monday August 10 starting at 7:00am EDT. Not sure how/if the start time shifts in other time zones.
I got all excited when Alan Sepinwall (TV critic) posted on his blog that he’d been to an AMC party where the S3 premiere of Mad Men was screened. But all he could reveal was that it was terrific.
For those who’ve followed it on TV, do they offer it for viewing online after the fact or tend to repeat episodes during the week?
Apparently I’m going to be on vacation for the premier and I’ve never been in a hotel room that had A&E. I suppose I can set the VCR… man, watching it in standard definition on the 15" TV/VCR combo is going to suck after watching it in Blu-Ray on the big screen. And to think I’m the one who nixed the DVR idea. “What, we never record anything anyway so why would we need a DVR?”
Once you pick a facial hair, you can’t go back to having no facial hair, once you put something in either hand, you can’t have empty hands again, you can’t have facial hair a different color than the hair on your head, and . . . I’m sure I’m missing something here . . . I couldn’t figure out how to put pants on.
AMC may rerun the episodes once during the week, but I don’t think they do it more than that. Episodes are also available on iTunes shortly after they air for $2.99 each.
