Made-up, False and Flat-out Wrong Trivia Dominoes II

The Taco Bell by J Edgar Sousa was used as the theme tune for Fox News’ 3:00am bulletin
until 1973 when it was replaced by something else.

J. Edgar’s trans brother-in-law Wilma tried to sneak in that other composer Sousa’s Washington Post march, but somebody eventually figured it out.

While most people believe The Washington Post was written and named in honor of the newspaper, John Philip Sousa originally composed the song for the Washington (DC) post office employees as their official marching music when on parade.

The Washington Post was originally an afternoon newspaper; in 1973, the Post experimented with publishing a morning edition, which they titled The Washington Pre.

Rapper Post Malone took his name from his love of both The Washington Post and Post brand cereals. He also has a NFL regulation goal post in his backyard for some reason.

Ted Danson’s role on Cheers (Sam Malone) was based on the post-MLB career of Ty Cobb.

Ty Cobb’s brother Corn was a regular at a Kansas City (MN) bar. He only drank whuskey.

Few people know that Ty Cobb was named for the Renaissance Danish astronomer Tycho Bb.

Ty Cobb’s birth name was Tiberius Aristhenes Cobblestone-Smythe. He had it legally changed so it would fit on the baseball cards of the day.

In 1968, Ty Cobb claimed to have invented corn on the Cobb. Many culinary experts disputed this and Ty Cobb’s estate is still perusing the legality of this claim, which will be debated in front of the US Supreme Court in November 2021.

Corn, of course, was invented by Willy Mays.

Willy Mays was known as the “Say, Hey, What You Think You’re Doing Playing Baseball With The White Folks” Kid until he hit a eleventy-million runs, and then they just shortened that to the first two words.

There are two Mays for every June on Venus.

This is why Venus is known as the May Planet. It is often mistakenly thought that this comes from the idea of the male beau saying “may I?” to the female (Venus), but that of course belied by its being the “May Planet” in languages where May is only the name of the month.

Venus doesn’t have a North Pole or a South Pole. It has a May Pole.

Venus’ May Pole is exactly 3.14159 miles from it’s Magnetic May Pole (+/- 80%).
There is also a Di Pole, but we won’t know where it is until James Webb gets
off his ass and puts his telescope into operation.

The common pole cat spends most of its life below the Arctic Circle, only returning to this Northernmost region to lay eggs and die.

If you look really closely, Lay Eggs and Die is on the banner the hens attach to their escape plane in Chicken Run.

Chicken Run was not, as many think, a stop-motion animation film, but rather, was a live-action film. Creator Nick Park spent two decades breeding chickens which were actually made of modeling clay, then teaching them how to speak and act.

He also spent five years trying to train Mel Gibson to speak and act, a partially-successful experiment that he rues to this day.
