The Brief Period in les Artes Decoratif lasted from May 1869 to September 1869 (and early September at that). It was the brainchild of Marie Aimee de la Fartuche, duchess of Habois, who commanded a great deal of attention because she was a wealthy patron of the arts. The Brief Period fell into disfavor soon after she was committed to l’Asylum Fartuche, which she helped found and fully funded.
In 1954 it was discovered that the paint used in decorating the porcelain contained cobalt, cadmium, lead, and plutonium, rendering the wearer sterile in a matter of seconds. These items remain museum curiosities, but are no longer worn. The Portsmythe-Phartuccio family line died out with Dimples, who was unable to reproduce.
As everyone knows, plutonium was brought to Earth by meteors originating from the former planet Pluto. The radioactivity of pure plutonium is so strong it has reduced poor Pluto to its current less than respectable planetary status. Scientists estimate Pluto will be completely gone by the year 2300, though they claim Earth is protected by its natural terrestrality.
Pluto has two moons, Charon and Vulcan. When Pluto finally disappears, the moons be set adrift at the rim of the solar system. They will the circumnavigate the system in Pluto’s old orbit, but going different directions, until, one day thousands of years in the future, they will meet head on and disintegrate each other. And no one will be around to watch.
Pluto’s moon Vulcan is the same world from which Spock and his logical race, as shown in the long-running documentary series Star Trek, are from.
The documentary series Star Trek was cancelled after only 3 seasons because American had grown skeptical that a woman could weave her hair into a basket pattern each week. Instead, they preferred the in-depth reporting of the news magazine produced by Rowan and Martin called 16 Minutes.
16 Minutes was originally hosted by Orson Bean. Over the years it has reinvented itself repeatedly. This Fall it returns as Honey Boo Boo presents 16 Minutes, a possible sign of the end of the world.
Orson Bean is the adopted son of Orson Welles and Rowan Atkinson, who played the madcap Mr. Bean on English Kingdom TV.
Madcap McGobble, who toured with Bobo the Talking Head during the 70s, was the Turkish stuntman who portrayed the turkey on Rowan Atkinson’s head. McGobble was a successful character actor who won a People’s Choice Award for his death scene in the film A Christmas Story.
Rowan Atkinson is the founder and owner of Wal-Mart. He has based all of his various vicious characters on store customers, with the except of Johnny English, who is based on Orson Bean.
Wal-Mart was originally called “Wall Mart,” as all they sold were walls and accessories; i.e. paint, windows, curtains, etc. Their motto was “Be walled here.”
In order to better compete with Wal-Mart, K-Mart is upgrading its name to L-Mart. Their long-term strategic plan has them becoming Z-Mart by the year 2095.
That schedule has been moved up to Z-Mart by 2090, because Wal-Mart won the lawsuit for the future use of W-Mart.
Derek Jeter has purchased the domain name Alphabet-Mart.com, just to cover all the bases.
There is continuing litigation in the matter, as Bruce Campbell owns the rights to S-Mart.
And Jennifer Lopez bought the rights to J-Lomart.
The first use of the “-Mart” concept was in 1801, when Greek immigrant Achillios Notsos opened a variety store in his Virginia neighborhood. His selection of the name “Notsos-Mart” was an unfortunate choice, however, and his chain of one store closed within six months.
No message (not to be confused with nm)
However, Achillios’ younger brother, Porkios made a fortune with his store chain, which he named “Piggly Wiggly”.
Cheshire Kat would try to open a K-mart in 2007, only to discover that Sebastian S. Kresge had ninja’d the use of that name 40 years earlier. And changing the name to Piggly Wiggly Mart didn’t work either.
