Madonna (aka Esther) is really getting into Kaballah-she was recently seen in LA, going to a Purim party 9dressed up of course). Is she now jewish? or is this just part of her on-going persona-change?
AFAIK, Madonna has never converted to Judaism. She’s Catholic.
I believe that she (as well as her husband and children) also practices Kabbalahism as well, and feels there is no confict with her Catholocism. I saw in an interveiw recently her father saying he read some of the books on the subject and was comforted that it doesn’t go against the Bible. (paraphrasing, think he said “Bible” but it might have been “our religion” too)
These faux-Kabalists have as much to do with Judaism as those Nation of Islam mutants have to do with Islam.
It would have been cool to have Stone and Madonna kissing at the Wall…not.
She can go to a Purim party if she wants to without being Jewish or claiming to be Jewish or pretending to be. Maybe a Jewish friend invited her.
