It was a pleasant surprise but I’m a bit miffed that Christina and Britney didn’t kiss as well. Boo!

I kinda got sick of seeing the same people up on stage over and over and over (50 cent, Timberlake, Missy). I wanted to see the White Stripes win one. They got robbed by Linkin Park in rock video. I was glad to see Coldplay win for best group video, though.

I’m fairly sure, from my viewings (3, thanks to TiVo and the rebroadcast) that it was Britney who initiated the tongue involvement, not Madge. Timberlake’s reaction was really priceless, sort of like “That’s so not right.” but in the post-show interview he admitted that his reaction was really “Why isn’t that me?”

Between the opening sapphic show, happening Duran Duran tribute moment, Johnny Cash winning an award (given during the pre-show, but still) and Coldplay’s performance, this is the best VMA show in about a dozen years. Damn, MTV got one right. Took long enough.
Agreed. Although, to be fair, Mo went in for the kiss with an open mouth to begin with.
They should have acknowledged Cash’s pre-show award more than they did…which I’m not sure they even acknowledged. The only person there giving him tribute was Timberkale, who said Cash deserved the award, not him.
