Every summer, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra does a summer concert series at Oregon Ridge State Park. It’s really great, and we usually go for the Independence Day Spectacular. This year, though, on July 23rd, the BSO is featuring the music of John Williams, my husband’s favorite modern composer. So this year, we’re going that weekend instead.
You take a picnic dinner, alcohol is permitted (and, indeed, sold at the Park at the outrageous price of $7.00 for a glass of crappy wine). The concert doesn’t start until 8PM, but people start arriving around 5PM or so. You can pay for on-site parking, or use free satellite parking with a free shuttle bus. Take lawn chairs, blankets, whatever. Then concerts are very family-friendly and always conclude with a fireworks display that is coordinated to go with the music. Tickets are $8.00-$18.00.
So, we’ll be there. I was wondering if anyone else was interested in going as well, and maybe meeting up there?
