Who's got concert tickets?

Concert tours for the summer are being announced … who’s got their tickets already? We’ve got tickets for Big Head Todd & the Monsters’ 30th anniversary (!) show at Red Rocks in June, and then Trampled by Turtles, also at Red Rocks, in August.

As it happens, I’m more excited about the opening acts for each concert (Dwight Yoakam and Lord Huron, respectively) than I am the headliners.

Any shows in your area that you’re looking forward to?

Hoping to see Sting/Peter Gabriel when they get out my way, but I’m going to wait to see if any cheaper tickets come up closer to the concert date.

I’ve got three concerts left in my North Carolina Symphony Series. Stravinsky’s The Firebird, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, and Beethoven’s Violin Concerto.

The Musical Box performing the Genesis “Black Show” in a couple of weeks, and the San Francisco Symphony performing *Das Lied von der Erde *in a couple of months.

I’m seeing that show in Montreal; can’t wait!

I’ve got tickets for the Lush reunion tour in September. It’s the first time I ever bought tickets to anything 9 months in advance. I might or might not be out of town that day, but I had to take the chance.

I have tickets for Journey and the Doobie Brothers and some other guy (Dave Nelson?) in August.

Pearl Jam May 1&2 at Madison Square Garden, then Ben Folds in May 4 at the Beacon. Gonna be a busy music week, so I took it as a vacation week from work.

Still trying to get 1 or 2 tickets for Iron Maiden at MSG. At this point, you never know when their last tour will be, but resells are starting at over $200 a ticket now.

Got tickets for my Bday to go see Suicidal Tendancies/Megadeth at the end of Feb at the Hollywood Palladium. I love that venue and I can’t wait!

The Who in DC in March. I can’t wait.
Still waiting to see if Dead and Co go on tour in the summer, I wanna see them in the DMV area.

I used to like to head down to the Newport Folk Festival on occasion. But it’s gotten ridiculously hard to get tickets. It used to be that you could actually buy tickets at the gate, or at least, not long before the actual event. But now, and I’m not kidding about this, tickets are sold out for this year’s show before they’ve even announced most of the line up. Call me old-fashioned, but I’d kind of like to know what I’d be listening to, before I commit a weekend and a couple of hundred dollars.

I haven’t got a ticket yet, but I’ll be at the Oakland gig on May 19th–Pete’s 71st Birthday! I hope to be close enough to shout “Get On With It!” and have him give his customary reply. It will probably be the last chance I get to see The Who…could be an emotional night.

I’m hoping to see Drive-By Truckers in April. They’re playing two nights at the newly renovated Lyric Theatre in Birmingham, AL.

Thinking about going to see Florence + The Machine w/Of Monsters and Men at the outdoor place this summer. I’m not really too deep in to either band but a friend wants to see Florence and I think it would be a groovy show to see from the lawn.

Sting/Gabriel tickets were somehow sold out before they went on sale for our closest venue. Three bills a seat for the cheapest seats.

Funny thing. This is an outdoor venue. I know where to park out back that you can hear them for free and drink all the beer you want.

I think I’ll do that.

Lord Huron in a few weeks at the Oxford Art Factory and then one week later the Decemberists at the Opera House.

I will be at the Regency Ballroom to see The Musical Box as well. And in March I’m seeing Steve Hackett.

We’re seeing Black Sabbath on Tuesday.

Off to see the Residents in London next Friday!
Not seen them since they toured The Mole Show in, um, 1983, I think.
And reformed prog group Curved Air play Glasgow in April.

This summer; Chicago, Northerly Island - Cheap Trick, Joan Jett, and Heart.

Three bands I’ve always wanted to see live but never have. Really looking forward to this one.
