Who's got concert tickets?

Going to see the Residents at Royale in Boston in April.
Can’t wait. First time ( I hope). Tried a few times before but got waylaid

No tickets for summer tours yet, but this spring I am seeing Set It Off, TonightAlive, Further Seems Forever, Say Anything, Into It Over It, The World Is A Beautiful Place And I Am No Longer Afraid To Die, and mewithoutYou. I had to choose between Further Seems Forever and Coheed and Cambria because they were the same day, so I chose the former because it will be at a very small venue where I will be within feet of the band, and Coheed is at House of Blues, the largest venue I will go to unless it’s one of my favorite bands ever, (which Coheed is, but, conflicts.)

I just bought some tickets a couple days ago for Smashing Pumpkins/Liz Phair at the Chicago Civic Opera House. I have absolutely no expectations for the show, as I stopped listening to the Pumpkins after Machina II and Liz Phair after Whitechocolatespacegg, but I somehow never got around to seeing either of these two artists – really, a couple of my all-time favorites in their heyday – so I couldn’t pass up on killing two birds with one stone and reliving my college years.

Aren’t these shows going to be acoustic? I saw Smashing Pumpkins in 1994. They put on a good show.

Five Seconds of Summer, bought back in November for a September, 2016 show. The tickets are for my daughter and a friend, purchased as a Christmas present.

It’s billed as “acoustic-electro,” whatever that means, but I don’t really care. I’ve always wanted to see Billy and Jimmy, and Liz Phair, well, the stuff of hers I like lends itself to an acoustic setting, so I’m game.

True. I’d also like to see Liz Phair.

Hasn’t arrived yet, but my Coachella wristband is paid for.

I saw 5SOS with my daughter twice last year - once near Pittsburgh and once as part of Jingle Ball in DC. They put on a great show!

How are the truckers sounding these days?

Have not even listened since Shonna and Jason left, but heard their latest is worth the listen.

English Oceans is good and got a fairly large amount of favorable press. The new bass player, Matt Patton, is a guy I know from his time playing with local bands The Dexateens and Model Citizen. The lineup was probably a bit stronger with Isbell just because of his songwriting but they’re still very solid. Isbell’s solo work is excellent.

Just saw Black Sabbath last night.

I’ve also got tickets for Blue Oyster Cult at the end of the month, Iron Maiden in April, the Who in May (rescheduled from September, so by the time I see the show it’ll have been nearly two years since I bought the ticket), Journey/Doobie Brothers/Dave Mason in August, and Heart/Joan Jett/Cheap Trick a few days later.

I haven’t been to one in quite a while.

If some artist wants to send me tickets, PM me.

Florence and the Machine in June.
Journey/Doobies double bill with my bro & sis in August.

Seeing Philip Glass playing four etudes (and with other pianists playing the remaining 16) soon. He is definitely on the short version of my concert bucket list. That said…that’s gonna be a lot of piano etudes in one sitting.

Mountain Goats in a few weeks. Might grab tickets to Dawes in April. Probably not seeing any of the mondo headline tours this year, but likely going to Riot Fest in Denver.

Finally get to see Blue Oyster Cult in 3 weeks at a local casino.

Taking my twin grand daughters and a couple friend’s of theirs to Heart, Cheap Trick and Joan Jett this summer.

Got tickets this morning to see Jenny Lewis & the Watson Twins perform their Rabbit Fur Coat anniversary tour at the Chicago Theater in September. Wife & I are excited as that’s easily our favorite Jenny Lewis album.

Just picked up tickets for Dead & Company (Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann, with John Mayer on lead vocals & guitar, and a couple other guys) at the Gorge this summer.

I’ve got tickets for Alice Cooper at the Warfield in SF in October. He always puts on a good show!

Red Rocks has a really good lineup this summer. I’m so excited to bankrupt myself going to concerts! We’re starting out with JJ Grey and Mofro next weekend.
