So… next week then?
Oh crapples, I didn’t see this until just now. The last Mafia game I played was… nontraditional, shall we say, and it’d be fun to play something more old school. Plus I’ve never played Evil Dead mafia (or saw the movie, for that matter).
So if you need a backup person should someone drop out, I’ll be happy to oblige, though I’ve only played three games before and am not exactly a Mafia Genius. (Actually I’ve never played the Werewolf variation at all, and considering I love werewolves this would’ve been extra cool.)
If not, reading along should be fun, anyway, since it’s clear Storyteller knows how to, well, tell a story. Good luck everyone!
Im glad someone else asked. I wasnt sure if my kindle was being thick.
well you know what I mean.
as far as I know, we’re playing here, so you won’t need an account on other forum except the one provided to you via PM if you’re scum.
That’s even better. Thanks.
OK. I’m going to randomize roles in the next two minutes. choie, if you want in on the regular game, you’re in - the balance works better with 27 players than 26, as it happens. Since I want to randomize right now, I’m going to assume that you’re in and then I’ll figure out how to replace you if you decide not to participate.
Role PMs will begin going out very soon. Please confirm receipt either by return PM or in this thread (or both). At some point this evening, I will start Night Zero.
Night Zero will be an administrative period prior to the beginning of Day One. Once it starts, the game is officially on. No powers or kills will be used on Night Zero. However, unlike all other Nights, you may discuss strategy if you wish during NIght Zero. You can vote, if you want, but it won’t count.
Day One will begin once all PMs have been sent and confirmed.
Oh, and one more thing…
The Barn
There is an old barn in the center of Town. It’s no longer used for storing animals or for any purpose whatsoever, having been replaced by a slightly less old building nearer the fields. From time to time, those who have grievances, threats, or prophecies to make known have used the broad side of this old barn to do it, using materials as varied as paint, food, and in one memorable instance, cow manure.
Every player in this game, no matter his/her role or alignment, may choose to place a message on the Barn for public view. Each player may do this once, and only at Night. Messages will be anonymous; all messages submitted on a given Night will be delivered en masse as part of the Dawn color on the subsequent Day. There is no game mechanism by which the source of a given message may be revealed to any player.
The Barn is only so big. Your message may not exceed 10 words.
Oh. And a vanilla role PM, to stave off handshaking.
Welcome to the game; you are a Peasant Redshirt.
Your IMDB credit for this one will read “baker” or “tavern keeper” or “ drunken man,” but your real job in this film is to mill around behind the named characters, to periodically ad lib background dialogue – “oh no, it’s the Mayor’s severed arm!,” or “she’s a witch, burn her!,” or “my, this stew is amazing, considering it was made from the Mayor’s severed arm!” – and, in all likelihood, to die. For that is the fate that awaits every crusty, scabby peasant like yourself, at least in a B-horror movie like this one: in pieces, in flames, in water, inevitably… someone or something is going to get you.
But even the lowliest extra can earn a little extra screen time, with the right performance. Keep your head down, keep your hand in, and when you hear a sound outside your window, stay right where you are and keep an axe nearby. You never know how things might work out.
WIN CONDITION:
You are Town. You win when all Scum are dead, if and only if no third party win condition triggers before or simultaneously with yours.
SPECIAL ABILITIES:
Juggling, accents, driver’s license, good with children, experienced background actor. All valuable weapons in the battle against men and women who transform into murderous wolves under the moonlight. Good luck.
Awesome idea, the barn. Looking forward to playing. (No PM yet, so there is nothing to be detected from this post I AM SCUM cough)

NIGHT ZERO
*EXT - Outside a tavern at the center of the Town. A brisk rain falls, punctuated by periodic blasts of thunder and lightning. The camera pans down slowly to the window of the tavern, and then inside.
Most of the village is present. We see many of the same figures as in the prologue… but there’s no sign of a chainsaw anywhere. A bearded man, the Mayor of the Town (played by the estimable MHaye) sits in front of the fireplace. Above the mantel, the mounted head of a moose looks on impassively.*
MAYOR
There is absolutely nothing to fear. The creatures that were seen were wolves, just ordinary wolves. No, not wolves. Dogs. You’re making yourselves crazy over a pack of starving dogs.
A PATRON
You don’t believe that any more than we do, Mr. Mayor.
MAYOR
I certainly do. And to prove it, I will now walk home to my mansion, alone, through the storm-swept streets.
CLOSE ON - His sword.
MAYOR (continuing)
And what’s more, I’ll leave my sword here.
He gives the camera the kind of ominous look that only a fifth tier actor in a seventh tier horror film can possibly duplicate, and then sweeps out the door, his cape whipping in the wind. The door slams shut behind him with finality.
A MALE PATRON
I’m sure he’ll be fine.
ANOTHER
Nothing to worry about.
A FEMALE PATRON
Everything’s going to be all right.
THE MAYOR’S VOICE (from outside)
OH DEAR GOD WHAT IS THAT THING!!!
MALE PATRON
Anyone for chess?
THE MAYOR’S VOICE
MY SPLEEN! NO! MY SPLEEEEEEEEEEEEEN???
ANOTHER
I’ll play.
FEMALE PATRON
How’s the stew?
The patrons go about their business. A trickle of red liquid crawls underneath the tavern door as we FADE TO BLACK.
Night Zero begins here. You can talk about anything you’d like, but no powers will be used until Night One. Voting won’t count until Dawn of Day One, which will occur once everyone has confirmed receipt of their role PMs (all have been sent, so if you don’t have one, please let me know ASAP).
Have fun, and try not to get eaten out there.
I’m having a spleen-did night, how about you guys?
