Mafia - Game in progress [Edited title]

Yeah, I don’t know when we stopped doing that. We just kind of did. And…the olden days? It wasn’t that long ago…was it?

Spooky. I just check my old messages for my last prior role PM, and it was from Skeezix for Glastnost Mafia and was sent out exactly 2 years ago today. I don’t remember a darn thing about the game. I think I had to sub out for some reason.

OOG - uh, yeah, as long as I’ve been reading Mafia threads here there have always been read-along threads. I don’t know where y’all have been playing, but here on the SDMB that’s basically how it’s done. Even I know that and I’m hardly a veteran. The title says Dead People Only and both Unspoiled/Spoiled in it, but if you want me to ask a mod to use the word “Forbidden” because that’s still not enough to indicate you live players shouldn’t peek in, I’ll do so.

– ghost!choie, who still can’t do anything right in this frakkin’ game even as a corpse.

I’m scared of ghosts, so I’m addressing this to you. This is the first game played on SDMB that I’m aware of since De’endee. I’m certain the last 4-5 games on SDMB have had unspoiled discussion only here with a spoiled discussion available off site.

ETA there have been instances where a player got spoiled information by accident when their name was mentioned in a discussion thread and they saw it when doing a username search, so it isn’t just keeping us out, it’s keeping the information out.

I ain’t afraid of no ghosts.

Hey now, I’m just waxing nostalgic. The only aspect worth perhaps holding over from long ago in a galaxy far far away might be the moderator participation. All can see safely is who started the thread, number of views (quite a few) and number of replies. So maybe Story is already in there. Spoiled details find their way into those threads by accident, and the mod is usually the best person to catch them and have them deleted.

Someone posted spoilers to the De’endee spoiled board a day before the game ended, and the moderator I contacted would not delete the offending post. So, the moral is, don’t post spoilers where players can accidentally read them.

Other than that, I’m glad Choie opened a thread. I always enjoy reading outside perspectives after a game!

I’ve asked the SDMB Games Room mods to change the thread to read Forbidden, no spoilers. Until then, do your best to imagine that’s what it says.

The power of choie compells you!1!

Arg! Who said that!?

i have made cases. perhaps you just find them too short. furthermore, i assume you think i’m bussing Babale since i’ve been voting for him.

that said, Vote Babale

by the way, why not vote for the four of your picks? it doesn’t cost anything.

as what has been said, you didn’t express suspicion for Stanislaus prior to your vote. it really feels like jumping in to gain cred.

Vote Dizzymrslizzy

yup. it’s Dizzy Mrs. Lizzy

well, it means you could either be a Town power role or scum. it’s another point of info.

Hey, guys, didja hear? There’s this *other *thread where you can get all of the secrets from *this *game! Pass it on (but don’t tell the Scum, okay?)…
Is there a case against **orthohedron **that boils down to something other than “he’s playing like a n00b?” 'Cause I’m not seeing it. Sure, he could be a Scum in over his head…but he could just as well be a ‘new player’ in over his head. I’d like some actual evidence before I put a vote down on him.

I’m also not crazy about the case on Babale, given that is seems to be based mainly on the fact that he’s largely been absent.

I did have a few reservations about the idea of lynching **Mahaloth **based on faulty recollection of his PM, as that comes close to ‘meta-gaming’, but it does seem to me to be a rather egregious mistake, and his near silence since his error was pointed out does seem to me more like “Scum trying to lay low” than “Town trying to make up for a boneheaded error”. I was considering voting for him already, for reasons similar to those cited by **Astral **in Post 1360; events since that have only made my decision easier.

On an ‘out-of-game’ note:

I have to admit, I’m having a hell of a time keeping this game and the one over on Idle straightened out. I keep thinking there’s a case against someone in one game, when it’s actually in the other. That combined with work having been tremendously bust the last couple of weeks have me feeling like I’m really playing catch-up in both games. Luckily, my on-call stint ended yesterday, so the next several weeks ought to e a lot calmer, and I should be able to prticipate fully.

I moderated a game here where I mod-killed a player who posted based on info. in the spoiler thread. Harry Potter Mafia, I think?

To all my naysayers: I already explained my feelings about Stan. I DID.NOT Vote initially vote Stan just because of the barn post. I did not verbalize it, here, but I was planning on coming back and posting my evidence when I had time to sit down. Here’s what I wrote the first time I explained it…

Seriously I was pretty straightforward and one of the first on starting the Stan wagon, and was RIGHT, and you are still voting me? I’ve made an effort since then to be here, and be more vocal about my opinions and keeping better notes.

Since you are here, would you be so kind as to respond to my Post 1306 where I questioned your rationale for voting for me? In particular that I was one of the players who “jumped on your back” for your vote on Stan? I didn’t see anything particularly wrong with it at the time and in fact never commented on it.

And USC, I take it back you weren’t on my back for believing the barn posting…

But my verbage would have been very clear that he was “protecting a now known Scum” not “Protecting known Scum”

My vote on you is solely because of that statement.

LOL cross post, I was planning on addressing that USC. Seriously, I feel like I’ve gotten a lot of votes on my back for very opportunistic reasons. People voted me yesterday because I believed the barn post…I was right, and I’m still getting harassed about it a Day later.

Day to end today at 2:00PM Eastern, or in just over five hours.

Maybe it’s just me, but the quietness of today indicates ortho is town. There’s been little substantial push for anyone else. I don’t feel as good about Babale, either.

Unvote Babale

In the five remaining hours, can we get a little more discussion of dizzy and Mahaloth? At least put your feelings on them in the thread.

I think the case against dizzy is pretty tenuous at best despite her pretty egregious vote for me (that she still hasn’t removed). Voting early in the Day based on an anonymous Barn message is a null tell to me. Some players were cautious, waited for Stan to respond and for there to be some discussion about the validity of the message itself. But if no one had voted **Stan **might have been able to avoid digging himself a hole with his fake role claim.
