On Weedy

I haven’t just talked on the phone to Weedy. I’ve seen her a couple of times. She was trying hard to convince me of her town-ness.
Clearly my reluctance to clear her was coming from somewhere. If she had sigils burned into her - does that mean she might have been controlled in some way? Or just an evil cult member.

Her evilness makes me more likely to want to clear Choie, because she really jumped on her after I was voicing my suspicions.

And Weedy, if you’re scum, excellent acting points to you.

Re the lynch runner-up attack-
One idea would be to run a “top 3 scum” (weighted?) tally and see where people actually have their suspicions. This was running through my mind earlier re lynches too. Not so much as a rule, but for info at least. Probably there’s some stupid thing I’ve overlooked in it that someone more experienced will point out, but if you’re interested, I’m happy to do a tally, but given my time limitations, I’d need you to send me your top 3s via PM. I’ll publish it so you can verify, but scanning & rescanning posts isn’t something I’ll have time for.

So do you think Weedy was scum? You are trying so hard to distance yourself at the moment, sorry Tanear, to me you look scummy too.

Voting Tanaer for distancing herself from presumed Scum is OK, I guess…but Tanaer never said she thought Weedy was Scum here, only that Weedy had apparently acted Townie.

Later, after it’s pointed out that the votes on Tanaer were pretty much baseless, she realizes her logic was “a bit twisted” and unvotes. She then votes Visorslash, in a coin-flip decision over gnarlycharlie. After being questioned about her reasoning there, she adds

Never does she explain why “visiting someone” suggests they are Scum. The two players who were “visited” don’t seem to have suffered any ill-effects. We’ve had no evidence of Roleblockers in this game. They could have been visited by a Tracker, a Detective, or any of a number of other Town roles.

I think Jan is looking for somewhere to place a vote and isn’t being too particular about it, as long as nobody can point out why it’s a really crappy vote.

One thing I noticed when typing up my last post.

We’ve had two reports of people ‘visiting’ other people.

Normal Phase was visited by **gnarlycharlie **on Night s (according to LightFoot)

Visorslash and Normal Phase are our two Double-Voters.

But it doesn’t seem that the visitations are the cause of the double-voting, since both players had the double-votes on Day 1, but it’s entirely possible the double-voting was the driving force behind the visits.

I didn’t like Scathach’s response to my D2 WoW and a quick review of her posts since haven’t changed that ping.

I’m not a fan of a Mosier lynch, he already lost 200 hit points and doesn’t seem to have been healed so a few more attacks should put an end to him.

Assuming I was killed by scum, I struggle to see a scum SilverJan go on about how scummy I look N2 only to NK me, especially when there were at least 3 others who shared the sentiment.

Normal doesn’t seem to have been hurt by gnarly’s visit.

Will look at Tanaer later.

Friendly reminder:

While it’s not necessary to expand your character in any way to win the game as townie, due to the simple requirement of defeating scum, it’s still very useful for your characters to develop.

Advancing in level by voting and switching classes unlocks new abilities and usually adds HP. There’s really no reason not to try, and it takes so little effort.

By my count, the only player who appears to be in danger here is Lilflower, who hasn’t posted since Day 1.

Next in line would be **Mahaloth **and PetW, who we haven’t heard from since Day 2, but they shouldn’t be in any danger until some time Tomorrow.

Mahaloth will likely be gone. too busy now.

Are you talking about the bit about getting closer to chaos and evil? Again, look at your PM. You have three relevant alignments. Law, moral, and game. Law & moral seem to be divorced from the game alignment. Why then do you think changing them can affect your game alignment?

Further, to become a Dragonslayer, I need to be chaotic/good. If I push myself towards chaos, I get new class options. I have no reason to believe it also affects my inherent game alignment, which is town.

Finally: note that Weedy was VERY evil, not just evil. I don’t see an option to switch to “very” evil anywhere.

I don’t believe there’s any evidence that changing your law & moral alignments affects your game alignment.

that’s what i understood as well. if you attack, heal, resurrect etc your alignment can shift.

I’m stuck. I don’t want to go into it much but I had (minor) surgery yesterday. I have family hanging around the place today. I need some people to do review/link posts or I’m stuck with my previous suspect MHaye or just going on possibly-completely-bogus gut instinct when end of day rolls around (if I can even manage to be online). I want to do proper investigation here and I can’t; it’s enormously frustrating, but even more so that nobody else is doing it either.

I did a WoW on Scathach in #1131 noting the low volume of posts, the single post (#741) between long silences pointing out that something was originally her idea, a one-off vote on Lightfoot - chosen from among several players who reacted to Astral’s ill-timed vote switch - accusing her of fake scum hunting and lurking, her lack of commentary on the other lynch candidates.

I reiterated my suspicion of her and others in #1218 and requested a response to my WoWs. She reappeared, apologizing for her absence in #1335, in #1338 she explains her case on Lightfoot, questions Visorslash about the neutral wincon and comments that Tanaer’s vote on Astral is uber-weak. She follows up with some analysis of Tanaer in #1339 including a vote, thinks Astral is townie, doesn’t want to vote someone she doesn’t think is scummy. No mention of other lynch candidates, and hangs onto her one off. She reappears in #1422 with a vote count so she’s aware of the other lynch candidates but makes no comment, she comments on Gadarene’s one off vote, on the Astral lynch again in #1433, then disappears again until Night and a smudge accusation in #1694 and a defense of the acccusation in #1713. I was NK’d, she commented on how the color was different between Astral and Mosier’s resurrections in #1765. I suspect being NK’d was her response to my WoW.

Since then she asked about the “good” in the reveal indicating Town alignment (#1769), placed another one-off vote on Bob on D3, comments on Day attacks in #2061 and reappears ToDay for further comment on the same topic (#2358 and others).

It sounds like a key charge against Tanaer is that he was personal friend of Weedy and was chatting with her via phone. If they were Scum together, I doubt they’d have mentioned that. (I’m more worried about secrets Tanaer may have revealed when he was under Weedy’s spell … Tanaer, perhaps you should now tell us everything that Scum already knows anyway.)

You know, I don’t think scum knows anything I haven’t posted here:
I’m a chaotic good common-or-garden soldier. I have an item the same colour as my elemental alignment. I have ambitions of becoming bard. I have suspicions of Choie. (More had, now). You know, none of these things seemed to hurt town too much to tell. And I could watch how they were used.

Choie was used to build a case against her. That’s why I’ve decided leaning town for Choie might be the way to go.

You know the one person Weedy consistently soft-cleaned to me was Normal.

Whilst Suburban’s vote for Silver Jan looks pretty contrived (she corrected a vote to the actual person doing the visiting she found troubling, but he seems to quickly distance himself from the reasons and point to flip-flopping) - I think I’ll go with the Weedy evidence:

Choie, on the reveals -
The combination of Weedy being very evil and Gadarene saying his win condition would change if he changed alignment leans me toward believing that Moral alignment might be a reasonable indicator of being pro-town. Weedy’s burnt-in sigils might have been initiation or an indicator of her being turned. Call me a simple soldier but it seems to me that most town people are decent, good folks.

Fubbleskag, me continuing to NOT know what my item does doesn’t seem helpful for the town. Would me guarding you be sufficient for you to examine it?
Alternatively I could just point it at Lord Phere and see what happens.
