I can’t believe you’re not getting more flack for this - how would someone know a third party wincon anyway, unless they were third party? And why would they tell someone if so? Not least the “I heard it from a guy who heard it from a guy” stuff. If the person you heard it from was so reliable and townie, then why didn’t they just post this useful information rather than PM it to someone else of unknown alignment?
So hunt scum, don’t just tell other people to. This is reminding me an awful lot of what PizzaGuy was doing in Arkham on Idlemafia
I think so too. Basically, when I’m town, I like to think of things I would do as scum, and tell people to knock that crap off, because I don’t need to make it easier for them.
If I was scum and I had a player like Septimus, I would be triply pleased- that’s a person I want to keep around until endgame especially if he keeps thinking of one of my scum buddies as Town. Or other deeds now that i know who he trusts to be more likely to bandwagon with, i can use that info to manipulate his vote.
But again, it’s been a long while since I’ve played this game, and cultural norms may have changed. This isn’t quite the same as the Style of Mafia I played… back when Storyteller was a name whispered in hushed tones.
If the three votes on Mosier were just someone with a triple- or quadruple-voter power, then that should put paid to the notion that they were cast in order to save me from the lynch.
That is, if one of the people on Mosier’s wagon was a triple voter and those extra votes were tallied at the end but had been cast prior to that, then there was no last-second casting of votes to shift the wagons. They had been there all along.
I’m getting plenty of flack for it, and it’s ridiculous. Why, as a scum, would I go after fubbleskag for being third party like that, let alone concoct some story about “I heard it from someone who heard it from someone”? Take it at fucking face value for one, please. The rampant paranoia and suspicion at EVERY. SINGLE. STATEMENT. that I make really bums me out sometimes.
Oh, and why didn’t they just post the information themselves? I DON’T KNOW. Maybe they’ll do me a favor and do just that, so I don’t have to put up with this sidetrack any more.
(Yes, I brought it up in the first place. BUT IT’S BEEN RUN TO GROUND.)
Are you really accusing me of not hunting scum? I’ve been one of the most active people in this thread.
Not this again. Regardless of when they were placed, they were still placed by Lord Phere (who is controlled by the traitor), which implies non-town origin all by itself. And I very much doubt that Pizza would link the three extra votes of a non-town actor to that non-town actor’s public vote – he might just as well point a flaming arrow at the guy saying “here I am!” (At least after a few days of paying attention to the tallies.)
Doublevoter where I’m from and Pizza is from is something else – your vote just counts double. Such voters are generally “outed” pretty rapidly unless they take extreme measures to avoid that happening, since sooner or later it can be determined by comparing which voters are on which bandwagon when the extra votes turn up. So it’s really not something that can be linked explicitly with a scum alignment the way the votes placed by Lord Phere are.
Oh dear, I thought that in this game** gnarley **looked more Townie just because he was talking more. He doesn’t post much usually but when he is scum he posts even less and in this game he is posting a lot more. Yeah, I know it’s all meta gamey.
Only from Suburban that I’ve seen. But yes I do find it suspicious and probably will continue to as it seems completely illogical so far. And I’m afraid rampant tinfoil hat paranoia is how I roll in these games
Apologies in advance to the person I’ve been corresponding with, but I’m going to quote your initial PM about this now. People will still find me fucking scummy and question every fucking thing I say because that’s apparently what people love to do, but it is what it is.
Here’s the portion of the PM in question; it came out of the context of us talking about how a person’s class is alignment-neutral – that there can presumably be Good-aligned soldiers, Neutral-aligned soldiers, and Evil-aligned soldiers (which may or may not be correspondent to Town-aligned, Third Party-aligned, and Scum-aligned, respectively).
I redacted one small portion that gives a clue to his identity, but otherwise this is unedited.
***"I just wanted to let you all know that I am plotting the demise of each and every one of you in the most horrific ways imaginable. And I have an imagination that comes from a Hell dimension. One of the more unpleasant Hells. Suffice to say, if you saw three seconds of it, your brains would melt out your eye sockets.
Please continue your futile efforts to thwart me. It makes me laugh.** **"
I am inclined to believe that you are Town and I have been for awhile. I don’t believe the EOD “Farewell” was a put up job. Scum must have been so on the ball to have done that. Yep, I know I am naive in this game but for goodness sake, the initial votes for him were D1 votes and he has just been defending himself since then. I am getting as fed up as Gad is with the posts.
NO, I don’t know that he is Town but he has given really good reasons for what he has done and said. If he’s scum then my scumdar isn’t working lol. (as if it ever does)
I think we should be looking for players that aren’t participating or have just made a few posts that make themselves look good. If Gaderene is scum, we will trip him up.
Damn. There goes my (admittedly small) hope that the triple vote was a one time power. Why is it public on day 2 though? Is it a limitation on the power or is it at the discretion of the user?
