I’m inclined to count it, but I don’t want to hear any whining if I missed the vote entirely due to it not being bolded. We bold it so I can see it as I’m speed-reading the thread to make a tally, and putting color in it to make absolutely sure it’s eye-catching. It works for a reason.
I don’t have a problem either way, but you need to be consistent. I believe there was a vote on Day 1 that was not counted because it was improperly formatted, which would suggest you should continue in that vein.
Assuming that counting ‘improper’ votes wouldn’t change the lynch results, I don’t have a problem with changing the policy at this point.
That’s how I’d like to do it next round, because I’ve been good about actually seeing the unbolded votes among the massive walls of text, but if I miss it, I really can’t hear complaints about it.
I just can’t change the rules mid-phase, so if there are no strong objections I’d like to implement it next phase. This phase it’s tough luck and all that.
Ok. My fuck up. And that’s fair, because I see Mosier’s vote did not count in round one. For the record, I really, really wish that the bold rule was in the original rules at the start. After reviewing, I finally found it in post 149. Sorry guys.
I know from checking my tally sheet that those votes weren’t placed and then unvoted, else I would have noted that to myself that they unvoted, for experience level purposes.
Those corrections are both valid and very helpful, thanks a zillion, Suburban Plankton.
Keeping the tally straight in this game is a beast, that’s why I’m in no hurry to proceed. This looks correct to me.
As with the other bad vote, it will still count for experience, just not for the tally. Officially it’s counted as an abstain. So it’s not so bad.
What I want to do after posting the writeup, and after every writeup, is a post with links back to the game rules, game mechanics information, previous writeups, and any pertinent corrections (such as the writeup mistake Day One) or game announcements.
This way, assuming everyone reads my writeups, you will also have convenient links back to every single Game-related Highly Important Information post.
Since I’m still technically not dead, one final piece of advice for my townie brethren.
Look at people who appear to be doing an excellent job of helping town. When the scum aren’t killing them, consider what that means. I have nobody in mind to point to, it’s just something I wanted to remind you guys of.
Somebody wrote a Google Chrome extension for counting Mafia votes, that’s specific to the SDMB. At least, I think that’s what it is. Anyway, I have it installed on my laptop at home, but it’s not on the one I use for work, where I’m posting from now.
Which makes me think maybe it’s not a Chrome extension, because those should be synced. Unless it only works on the Dev channel.
Does this sound familiar to anyone else, or have I finally lost it completely?
I don’t mind if it goes to Normal, I just wanted some jewels
I think that Pizzamod has to stick with the rules that were in play on D1 unless the majority agree to change them. I have screwed up votes/unvotes about a hundred times and then quiver in fear when I have to change them. Players usually notice a messed up vote and will shout out about it (what an awful sentence).
