Mafia: Mutiny on the SS Incorrigible

he’s our Tribble

Yes and no. It doesn’t make a big difference, but before you get the PM any questions you have about the rules or comments about strategy come from a neutral POV. Once you’ve read it, you’re irrevocably committed to your side and everything you say has to be read with that in mind. If you have a deludedly swashbuckling mental self-image - and I like to think I do - you can liken it to the dueller’s “En garde!” - a sign that from this point on you’re playing the game seriously and everyone else should be on notice.

Not confirming is hardly going to give you an edge, but I think it’s a nice courtesy to your fellow players.

<snipped>

do people actually do this?

“Seriously” may not have been the mot juste, but “half-assedly during lunch hour” didn’t really fit with my Walter Mitty-esque duelling simile.

and to kick off our dope version of mc hale’s navy.

vote story, normal, stanislaus and fubbleskag

reasoning in this order:

because
for not taking this game seriously enough
for taking this game too seriously
for kicking my ass at poker

and just so it is clear that i am not running afoul of the hold no grudges from previous mafia games dictum i am voting for fubs because of a grudge from a not mafia game.

Peeker is using too many real words. I am suspicious.

As much as I don’t condone this sort of behavior, I do feel the need to share this.

I was playing Words With Friends (a Scrabble knockoff for the iPhone) yesterday. I made a move, got my new tiles, and this is what greeted me.

See post #32. I’m not in; I’m just providing snide comments until Game On! happens. And it has. I’ll be in the lounge thread with the chips & salsa.

Confirmed.

You are bad at this “not confirming” game.

vote: NAF for arguing with me.
vote: Stanislaus. En garde!
vote: peeker. OMGUS
**vote: Drain Bead/b]. Policy vote. I’ll make up the policy at a later date.

Rules clarifications:

Being killed does not block the use of any powers being used the same Night.

If the votes to space a player are tied and cannot be resolved by rank, then no spacing will occur.

Vote: fluiddruid, TexCat, peekercpa and Mahaloth

Reasoning: Someone of rank is likely scum, and it ain’t me.

I was just thinking about that. With 16 players and 4 scum, there’s a 31% chance that a scum is lurking in the officers section. So the scum are not only going to be trying to eliminate townies with powers, they’re going to try to place their co-conspirators in positions of power without being obvious about it.

Did you play the previous game, IS?

Yeah, I don’t think I played so well in that game. Why do you ask?

Just your wording in that post. The conclusion you drew can’t actually have come from your “just thinking”; you’d already have realized it from the last game. Just the tiniest whiff of disingenuousness.

Really? I thought I was the best judge of what I’d be able to realize given various data points. Would you are to explain to the class why I can’t have come to the conclusion that scum are going to be sneaky about rank changes in this game without information from the last game?

NETA: Would you Care, not would you are.
