I’m not sure who to believe less out of Hero and peeker so I guess I’ll wait to hear what peek has to say about his results.
Why the crap either of you claimed when it hadn’t even been decided I can’t fathom. As for a mass claim
Why the hell not
though if it’s agreed by the majority can we please try and keep to the order? I trust mentalguy to do the random.org thing (never thought I’d be saying that!) and people just jumping in willy nilly doesn’t somehow make them more townie for getting in there first.
I am leaving and won’t be back till sometime this afternoon. I will go ahead and post the list. It seems to be going more in favor than against. The list includes myself and Hero although we have already claimed. Just start at the top of the list and go down, skipping anyone who has already claimed.
There were 10 items in your list. Here they are in random order:
No personal offense to the Masons, but I feel they messed up yesterDay. Mentalguy claimed under pressure, which wouldn’t make sense if the Masons knew they could be protected from a lynch like that. Therefor, the other masons were unwilling to reveal one of their rank to avoid a mis-lynch. If the Masons don’t even have it together enough to keep each other from being lynched I don’t trust their judgment.

Five masons seems like a huge amount and if their numbers are faction matched we have one cabal left and two wolves. With ten players alive I think the game looks like this:
If my setup is right than we are at 3 scum 7 town. 1 mislynch + 2 night kills = LyLo tomorrow. We can’t afford mistakes. I’m on the fence about a mass claim, and so far Ped was the only person who gave a reason for it being good. I think those advocating for it should give their reasons too before we proceed unquestioningly.
Peeker> If you are a detective can you share who you already investigated before we go down this rabbit hole? You don’t have to reveal your results, but if at least one of the people you investigated is still alive that will go a long way in validating you and strengthening the information benefits of a mass claim.
If I think some information can benefit the town I’m not going to sit around and wait for YOU to give me the ok.
I thought I was clear before, but I’ll quote it again.
I could be wrong, but that doesn’t make me a liar. I think it is important information to talk about, especially before we go forward with a mass claim.
No unconfirmed player can even comment on the lack of vanilla townies because the conversation would go something like this:
Person A “So guy… anyone else think there aren’t any vanilla townies?”
Person B “So you’re saying you’re scum? Get him!”
Person A “Shit, now I have to claim…”
The masons could have safely brought it up, but they didn’t and I’m not sure they ever would. Also, my speculation of the remaining players (as outlined in the post above) leads me to believe we are one mistake from LyLo, whereas Ped thinks we are strong enough to do a mass claim. I’m not 100% sure about that and think it is worth discussing our options with as much information as possible.
If my above speculation is right, this mass claim is going to yield the following results:
3 Vanilla Townies
2 Masons
1 Hero (coward)
1 Peeker (detective)
3 more town aligned roles (we already have pretty good evidence of two of these, but I’m not going to list them in case we do go forward with a mass claim)
Can you at least see where I am coming from and why I came forward to put out the option that vanilla townies don’t exist? Do you see why I couldn’t do so without also claiming?
Yep, I’ll post my results. But there are a couple of folks on the top of the list that I really really want to hear their role claim before I go public.
I wrote a rather lengthy post this afternoon, but it disappeared into the ether.
Hero, maybe Masons did make a mistake by not bringing up the possibility of no vanilla townies, but remember a few things. It was much less certain before last Night (and is still not an absolute certainty). The Masons are not able to communicate outside the thread, so we couldn’t discuss it and decide as a group to do it. They may not have wanted to expose anyone they were certain was town since that would provide a target for Nightkills.
I honestly don’t know whether a mass claim is the best thing or not, which is why I am just going along with the group. I agree that it would probably be a good idea for peeker to say who he has investigated.
peeker, can you give us some idea of why you want some people to claim before you provide any information at all?

I don’t know if Sitnam is missing in action or if he just doesn’t want to claim, but may also not want to say he doesn’t wish to claim.
Honestly, I may have made a mistake posting the list early. I knew I was going to be out most of the day yesterday and since only one person had opposed the idea and the other feedback was positive or indifferent I figured we would decide on a mass claim and I was just trying to be helpful.
Now, though, I am not so sure how much good a mass claim will do. Everyone of course will claim town, but they also know they probably need to claim some other power role. So all the claims are going to look like this:
“I am town and I have a special role, but I think it would be too beneficial to the scum to reveal exactly what it is.”
Anyway, whether people start claiming or not, we can still try to analyze prior posts and votes to try to come to some conclusion. I will be back later with my thoughts.
I, Sitnam am a Pro-town Mason, MentalGuy will confim.
I’d like to address this:
MentalGuy had 4 votes against him for the lynch heading into wednesday night, no one was else even close, the Day before I could hear crickets chirping it was so quiet thursday, nothing changed yesterDay either. So what? I should role claim, watch MentaGuy get lynched and then get night killed myself?
I don’t think role claiming is such a great idea for me right now, but this game is getting lamer and lamer so I figured I’d limit the choices for toDay’s lynch so we can get another baddie and I get night killed which I’ll consider a win-win.
I’m a Shepherd. Every Night, I visit a different neighbor to find out whether they’ve seen my lost sheep. If I visit a werewolf, I die. So I knew this game had werewolves, which is why I thought MG’s slip on Day 1 was real.
I was afraid to visit people who might be NK, because I thought being at their house would get me NKed, too. If Hero is telling the truth about his role, then I probably shouldn’t have worried about it, because he stayed at Pleo’s house on Night 1, and nothing happened to him.
I tried to visit kitten on Night 1. I picked kitten because I thought he was a townie, and I figured that scum wouldn’t target him because he got so much suspicion on Day 1. I got a PM before Day 2 started, which said that my attempt to visit kitten was unsuccessful. I’m still not sure why it happened, but at first, I thought he was a Doctor who self-protected (i.e. didn’t let anyone enter his house). But now that we know he was a Cabalist, my theory is that kitten wasn’t home because he was out NKing.
On Night 2 I visited BillMC. I didn’t get any PM, and since I’m still here, I think it’s safe to say that he’s not a werewolf. I picked BillMC because a known werewolf voted for him. On Night 3, I visited MentalGuy because at that point I knew he’s not a wolf. I was hoping that by saying that MG might be protected, I discouraged scum from targeting him. My attempt to visit him was successful, so I think he wasn’t actually protected.
Now that I’ve claimed, I can try to use my role like a detective. For example, I can try visiting the player most likely to be a wolf, and if I’m dead the next Day, you’ll know why. The problem is that if the scum NK me, they’ll be able to frame someone. Alternatively, I can try to visit Hero (or someone else who claims a Night action), and see if he’s telling the truth about not being home at Night.
My turn now. I’m a town doc. The first two Nights I self protected which may be why there was only one kill on Night 1. Last Night I protected mentalguy - ironic or what. I’m not going to say who I’ll protect toNight - no point giving anything away.
OK11, I’m not sure what limitations your power has but if you were able to visit mentalguy last Night then whatever stopped you before wasn’t a protection but something else.
I don’t know if I’m the only doc as I was told “a” town doc as opposed to “the”. May be irrelevant but worth noting.
Something MentalGuy didn’t say but is something I feel is important for town to know, the town mason PM I got was a mass PM sent to the 4 others, if they have different powers or different win conditions than me it would have to be in another PM. I’ve never had a role before so I don’t know, but that suggests to me it’s likely all the Masons are just that simple…obviously, despite the title of this Game.
In case he didn’t already say it, we were not allowed to talk to each other secretly.
Does something happen if you find your sheep?
I’ll wait for peeker before I claim, since he seemed to want the floor, but if he takes too long, I’ll go ahead.
Okie dokie. Gather close and hear my tale. Adrift, askonce, aloof and drunk. I am in a simple town with simple necessities. Town must stay alive while eliminating anti town factions.
I have a power. Once during the night I may choose to investigate one other player. I will learn their alignment but not their role.
Night one I decided to investigate the cola man. Shit he plays the durn same way no matter what so I thought, what the hey, let’s get him off the list.
And I am doing this kind of in a circular motion so bear with me. Last night I checked out Bill. He had been pinging for a while and I just had to know. Alas, forsooks, gash drat it, he as well is town. But that may not be bad in the sense that one more confirmed town makes the pool narrower.
