Guess us newbies don’t drink as much as the vets.

Menocchio, lynched Day One
Queen of Town, killed Night One
Fuck
The doctor is dead? Bloody hell.
Okay, here’re my thoughts so far.
Queen of Town had voted for fluiddruid. FD is a pretty experienced player, so I honestly can’t see her turning around and offing someone who had voted for her, because that simply wouldn’t be smart. Of course that is bit of a WIFOM, as she would know that. But I’m inclined to believe the former rather than the latter with the WIFOM, as I’m also sure that she would be aware that some of our newer players would jump straight to suspecting her, and we do have a number of new players (and newer players such as myself).
Yeah, I guess this kinda counts as a fluiddruid snuggle, but this is my take on the situation so far.
Got a question? Snuggle, this is the first I’ve ever heard. Does **Blaster Master ** get a copyright?
Guess the ‘should we lynch in spite of role claim?’ question is pretty moot now, at least for Doctor.
Crap.Down the Doc on Night1.
I gotta believe there are 4 scum, 5 is just too many fer us to have a decent chance at winning and 3 would make it difficult for the scum to win, I think.
Assuming there are 4 scum and we miss our chance toDay at killing one of them, that will make the score 8-4 by the start of Day3.
If the Detective(assuming we have one) detected a scum last Night,do you think it would be a good idea to say so? 9-3 looks a helluva lot better than 8-4.
Calling for a modkill is very scummy, I will vote fluiddruid .
Iwant to be real careful of what I say next. I hear what the more experienced players are saying but I have to look to the motivation behind their statements.
Therefore, I am now approaching this in a more jaundiced eye (if that can be possible).
Huh. I really didn’t see her statement as calling for a modkill, but rather a cry of “Don’t lynch the lurkers, let’s look for scumminess instead.” Part of me wants to give you the benefit of the doubt that you were not intentionally misinterpreting her statement, but it also seems very strange to be concerned about someone basically saying “if the lurking is that much of a problem, it will be dealt with as stated in the rules”. It’s not like we can convince sachertorte one way or the other on something like that. So, for now, I’m gonna go with FoS MadtheSwine
That’s really odd. Normally doctors self-protect unless they have a really good reason not to. So, who was Queen of Town protecting? Or did the rules say that she couldn’t self-protect.
Just a question for discussion: Blaster Master is more experienced and tends to create, in my head, a kind of feeling that if you don’t agree with me you are dumb. I understand his math but don’t see how it applies - the underlying logic I get but the approach not so much. Why wouldn’t scum take him out if he’s on the right track (here comes my ass handed on a platter, me thinks).
Well, as for taking me out, there’s a whole lot of WIFOM thought that goes into it. So, here goes nothing…
If I’m a good player, then you might think I’d be a good target for scum. So, you’d expect I’d be taken out early. However, by not taking me out, the “only” reason for scum to leave a good player up is if I’m scum. So, they can either take me out, or leave me alive and hope that people will start to wonder why they haven’t, and let me get lynched as well. The scum used this to perfection in M2 against strumhauke.
Similarly, let’s say the scum DO adopt a strategy of killing all the good players, then if there’s, say, 3 or 4 widely regarded good players, but one of them is scum, then killing all but the scummy one puts a lot of suspicion on him as to why all the rest were killed but he wasn’t. Hence, it sometimes makes sense to leave some good players alive to leave people wondering. The scum did this in the off-board pirates game, leaving me alive to cover for Gadarene.
Another similar philosophy is whether or not to take out people who were on the right track. If the scum always kill those on the right track, then it’s easy to figure out where things point. OTOH, if they leave them alive too long, they’re bound to nail them. Scum may also deliberately kill someone who was WAY off to make it LOOK like they are right, and get the town looking in the wrong direction. Either way, this sort of kill is deliberately designed to confuse the town, and really shouldn’t be used in any sort of reasoning, because we just don’t know.
So, take that for what it’s worth, which probably isn’t much.
Now, as for why Queen is dead, well, she had newbie non-vanilla role written all over her; she spent a lot of time looking for advice and seemed very tenative about drawing suspicion and such. I was a little suspicious at first because it’s often hard to tell whether it’s scumminess or power role. Considering my approach to this game, which is to assume the scum are at least as smart together as I am alone, they probably had a similar read. Also, considering they knew she wasn’t scum, and their primary goal is to fish out power roles, it’s little surprise that she was targetted. As for why she wasn’t self-protecting… I can only guess she thought much like you did, that they’d target an experienced player over a new player.
I’m going to give this some thought and see if I can come up with any leads…
Fair enough: All I am saying is that you still being here can be a WIFOM kind of proposition.
Cricket chirp and doves coo.
NETA: Obviously cricket should be plural since they do seem to come in some type of community - at least in my neck of the woods.
I’m fucked yet again. hold on, I’ll try to save us. I may grasp victory from the jaws of defeat.
Self-protecting doctors are really a SDMB thing. Normally they don’t self-protect. What bugs me is that you want to speculate on who Queen was protecting. If you’re speculating on a specific role, fine. But let’s not speculate on who she might or might not have been protecting.
Really let’s lay it all out there. Are you asking who you think she thought the cop was?
Blaster Master, sorry to get out of game on you, but REALLY.
Are you really that smart? A little humility would do some good.

For looking for who queen was protecting. I’m open to changing it.
