:smack:
AUGH!
I feel like Charlie Brown kicking a football here…
Just… AUUGH!
Oh yeah, you’re totally evil, but you’re really fucking good at it. Mad respect.
Right back at’cha.
Okay, I looked at the posts you cited…and I’m not impressed. While you may have a good frequency, it seems like a frequency an uninformed player could pick up normally, and bufftabby definetly wasn’t aware of snuggling until you called her on it.
Yeah, but the thing about bufftabby is (and you can correct this if I’m wrong), she gets very emotionally involved in this game. Like…when she’s talking, I actually feel like I’m in a town, with assassians, or mafians, and that we actually could die if we don’t repel them. Someone like that will probably enunciate more of their feelings, even if it gets them into trouble. So I find this to be a “personality tell”.
Anyway, I’m not seeing enough evidence to swing my vote. So RoOsh, unless somone else has a change of heart, it looks like this is it.
I always feel so bad when someone goes up to the block, even if they are scum.
Bah, don’t feel bad. I only feel bad when it’s my fault a townie gets lynched coughfluiddruidcough* fortunately, that’s not the case here, methinks.
Oh, and really quick, assuming Nanook doesn’t post in the next few minutes before Dusk, even if we’re wrong about RoOsh and Nanook doesn’t get mod-killed, I think the clear lynchee for Tomorrow should be bufftabby. As I imagine I’m the most likely target Tonight, I just wanted to get it out there that if Nanook actually IS scum, he’s got some cajones.
The sun began to set and one member of the rapidly declining population decided he’d had enough. Geez, why didn’t it occur to him Days ago that leaving town is a good way to not get killed. So while everyone was debating the merits of lynching Roosh and bufftabby, Nanook of the North Shore made a hasty run for the border.
The trip would be long and arduous but North Shore types are of hearty stock. Nanook was sure he could scale the mountains, brave the wind and snow, cross the wide streams, and hike his way to safety. Unfortunately, he didn’t realize his cowardly retreat would be his undoing, and with a crack of lightning Nanook of the North Shore was no more.
Nanook of the North Shore, a coward, has been smote.
As the sun disappears from view the kittens come out to play all chanting “Snuggling is good! What do you have against snuggling? Roosh is a bad man, not wanting to snuggle with the adorable kitties. Die Roosh, Die!”
The kittens most clearly do not snuggle Roosh.
Roosh, an Assassin is dead.

::rushes off to read the forbidden thread::
Wait…I can do that now, right?
At least I don’t feel so bad about the meta-reasoning on Nanook but, like I’d said before, I was comfortable in assuming he was town to the end anyway.
As for RoOsh, well played but, much like me, you couldn’t overcome what zuma did. I’m glad I reread his actions on Day Two in the context of the other scum, because I just couldn’t imagine a townie behaving like that.
The other point, which I decided I didn’t want to mention, was the tone of bufftabby’s defenses were much more despairing. She was getting emotional, and RoOsh was calmly defending. IME, it’s a lot easier for scum to calmly defend themselves, so that was another small, unmentioned point against RoOsh.
And Sach, can we get a link to the scum boards? I’m always interested in reading them.
End of Game, Moderator Notes
Night One:
Koldanar(NAF) investigated Blaster Master : “Town”
Queen of Town protected Blaster Master (could not self-protect)
Assassins assassinate Queen of Town
Night Two:
NAF investigated pedescribe: “Town”
Assassins assassinate Sitnam
Night Three:
NAF investigated RyJae(IceCreamMan): “Scum”
Assassins assassinate WFTomba
On Night Three, the detective had a small chance of winning the game. Had the Detective investigated a Simpleton, who was not WFTomba (killed by scum), the Detective would have had sufficient information to win the game. In this situation, the strategy of wanting to identify Town rather than identify Scum is counter-intuitive.
The moderator overlooked the artifact that by not requiring a majority to lynch, and requiring an uncontested plurality of “No lynch” to no lynch (i.e. ties are broken by coin flip), the assassins needed a strict majority to win. The ‘normal’ scum number equals town number results in a scum win, did not apply in this case.
The moderator also overlooked a loophole that would have guaranteed a Town win after the Detective claimed. The loophole would be Town deciding on Day Four (day of Detective claim and first day of “no substitutions”) that all unconfirmed players stop posting and take the mod-kill. Forced removal of at least one unknown (Town or Scum, does not matter) would have guaranteed a Town win. Future rulesets should revisit this loophole possibility. For the most part, I think the loophole will not be exploited as it defeats the purpose of playing and is quite un-fun.
*Note, I wrote this after Night Three.
Yeeeeaaah! Eat it, scum!

Many thanks to sachertorte for such an enjoyable game!
I was kicking myself over the whole WFTomba vs. **Naf **issue. I knew one had to die, but I was convinced that **Tomba **was the Cop because of his odd method of attributing points to townies. It reeked of stuff that Pleonast had done in BR as a Cop, and that he had done in YSI as Scum. And so since I knew he wasn’t scum…
I figured he was the last power role.
:sigh:
And yeah, I tried to keep You **BlaM **over **ShadowFacts **because I figured i’d try to get the **Zuma ** Sympathy points from you. But when I saw you going back and basing a vote on his early game actions- i was SCREWED.
And I knew it. I couldn’t defend any of his “I quit” crap, and I knew no matter how Townie I’ve been playing (for the record my lecture on snuggling would be the same no matter if I was scum or not, if I was a Vig, I’d have killed **Bufftabby **to make MY life easier, as i’ll still insist it’s frustrating if I were a townie. (This is why I’ve killed **Dotchan **so many times- she just READS as scummy to me. And rather than give them a free pass, I’d rather take the time to make sure I’m right)
But since I was scum, so I didn’t care if it muddled the waters, but it was muddling EARLIER than later, and I joined waay to late to play with it really).
Yeah. It sucks that both BlaM and I had the same problem, though you did read into his “I quit” as more dealing with Batman than this game, but it’s REALLY hard to defend a person you’re substituting in for.
And for the Record: I HATE The LOophole. So freaking much. But it’d have been Anti-Town to complain. So I had to grin and bear it.
But SCREW YOU ALL for that damn loophole!
Congrats you bastard townies
Good game sach! Okay now to the important stuff, new game anywhere???
Sweetness. I knew it, didn’t I?! Happy buff dance!
Well-played, RoOsh, well-played. You damn near got my furry ass killed!
I’m not a fan of the loophole either, but I didn’t catch it until the game was already underway. I wasn’t keen on changing the rules mid-game. Town had this game pretty much in the bag once NAF claimed; and if Nanook hadn’t fallen on his sword, Town would likely have won anyway (although I wonder who Nanook would have voted for. I think Nanook was more inclined to vote bufftabby, which probably would have led to his lynch). Either way, Roosh was going down next.
Oh, and it’s my birthday today, so thanks for the excellent present from the RoOsh voters
And I think the award for Most Impressive Debut in a Dope Mafia game goes to: pedescribe. What a game! He may not have posted a whole lot, but his scumdar was locked and loaded. Nice job, buddy!
Oh yeah, pedescribe. I was very surprised by that early post hitting 3 scum! I thought scum were going to kill him that night.
