Mafia--T2: Behind the Scenes

NETA
If sach is drinking then both are clear. If you are on deck then you be phuqued 'cause both are death makers. Just to let you know. That’s just the way he plays.

Nothing wrong with that, BTW.

[Oog]I just want to say thank you to the newbies in the pool. TL, AH, and ESPN (I told you that you would get upgraded to the standard package). Some of the old tight asses in this forum need to be shaken up.[/oog]

I would geuss (FWTIW) that it is a pure random vote. I can´t see SC voting for herself (ok the player could be a he, but writing Sarah Conner voting for himself seams wrong) as it would sort of attract attention in her direction.
Why she picked the well dressed cat, who knows, random pick, some snuggling due to prior game interactions, or Sarah Conner is a crazy cat lady.

We do know that the power is activated at dawn, and I geuss SC cannot change it during the day.

Been hitting the juice early this morning Peeky :stuck_out_tongue:
Thanks dude, now after a few hours of incisive analysis it is time to go and fire up the parilla and cook a sizeable chunk of cow for the folks. Consider yourselves virtually invited.
Should I post anything more today please be aware my thought process will have been lubricated by a low viscosity mix of Malbec and decongestants. You may not notice any change.

I think you are trying to make other people suspicious of sachertorte whether or not your reasons make any sense. Which they don’t; your reasoning is internally inconsistent. You’re just saying whatever.

An absolute mischaracterization. All they need to do is make an inconsistent argument.

I haven’t the faintest idea what sach is. I don’t need to know his alignment to know that your argument is faulty. My feeling that your argument is scummy exists independently of whether sach turns out to be scum or not.

And I really hope, at this point in our collective Mafia-playing experience, we have come to learn the difference between attacking an argument against a player and defending that player.

But the bad fats are the best bits - live on the edge a little before the commode and the male nurse called Todd becomes your best friend.

Coincidentally Almost Human is a special effects company that worked for the Sarah Connor Chronicles which is odd because I’ve used this name on other things before.

I’ll admit to being a tad concerned about being in your “special club” but as long as we can swap pills and grumble at “kids these days” from the porch I guess it could be fun. Even more worrying - I seem to be able to understand most of what you’re saying though I’ve no clue what ‘cuata’ means’ but it sounds kind of dirty

Frankly, in light of pedescribe’s statements, Rysto looks a bit suspicious. Particularly given that of all the scum roles that might have quirks, obviously the Jester and the T-1000 are the ones most likely to (the vanilla scum are probably all identical). It’s entirely possible that, if the T-1000 is the scum role with a quirk (and bear in mind, we have no idea, really, if any scum roles have quirks at all; the quirks may all be Townie in nature), Rysto was given the same role back again, or given a new scum role, in order to keep the quirk from being revealed. In such a case, lying that the original PM was never received would be your best course.

So I’m moving Rysto onto my list in your place:

[color=blue]

  1. Vote NBC
  2. Vote storyteller
  3. Vote Rysto

(Leaving him in the third position, rather than the second, to reflect the essentially vague nature of this suspicion).

To peeker: information, particularly about the aims and abilities of the scum, is always of value in this game. If both NAF and Rysto turn out to be Town, then we may be somewhat (not entirely) confident that there are no scum quirks, and that we know everything there is to know about the scum’s powers and abilities. If you’ll think back on how uncertain the existence of hidden powers made us all in Conspiracy, you’ll realize why that’s valuable.

On the other hand, if we discover along the way somehow that the Jester (for instance) has a quirk not evident in his role PM - I have no idea how we might discover this, but we have - NAF is already on record as saying there is not. We would then have a good indication that he lied about his previous role (not definitive, because hypothetically pedescribe might have changed the PMs before he sent them, but good).

Most importantly, there is no anti-Town danger to revealing this information for those who were past-life scum; a net increase in the information we have at no substantive risk is of value.

AFAIK Sarah Connor wouldn’t have any information about the Town.

I’m not as certain as NBC that she wouldn’t vote for her/himself but I’ve no real reason for thinking that as yet. I guess it does make sense that she/he’d choose a minus vote for the first Day though as she/he’d have had no time to decide on anyone in particular being scummy.

And I probably spelled it wrong but cuata is the feminine of cuato - i.e. Gemini, the twins. So let’s drink our Geritol and it’s not “dirty” until Santo chimes in. After that, all bets are off especially if you get the “favored” position at the bottom of the scrum.

I’m afraid that our esteemed mod is mistaken. I never received my first Role PM. Note that I never confirmed receipt of the first, only the second. Also note that I was the first to confirm my second PM, because I had been refreshing the boards all afternoon waiting for my Role to come in – if I had received the first I would have confirmed it right away.

I’m not saying Rysto is “off the hook” - but can we be 100% that the crashing af the boards isn’t the reason the PM went missing??

<Snipped> I’ll try to do better job of indicating when I truncate someone else’s posts. Normally pretty good about this but this time not so much.

And I agree that there is no anti town danger in such acquisition. Just saying that any pre set bullshit don’t have a lot to do with post set bullshit. I mean if someone had a quirk that say, they had to post in Esparanto, pre set and they don’t get that same quirk post set and then someone starts posting in Esparanto it could be conclusive. But if that player was a townie role before and a scummy one now sure the new Esparanto poster is identified to the scum. You think that they are going to be truthful about that knowledge?

I understand that knowledge is the town’s weakness and therefore its attainment should be paramount just saying that any comments about pre set could be full of crud. And to base a decision on crud don’t seem to make a lot of townie sense.

I mean I was a scienist (sic) previously. If I am lying or telling the truth makes no difference post set. As you observe, who’s to say that the “quirks” wouldn’t be changed or shuffled. In which case we reach erroneous conclusions based on a false premise. Playing it straight up post set seems to be the most conservative.

Yikes, I am even confusing myself.

And I still want to know why Rysto lied about his first PM.

I did not lie. pedescribe is mistaken; I never received a PM in the pre-reset round of PMs.

Hi Peeker - I’m getting a bit confused here…
Please help me out - why is knowledge not power to the town anymore?

Might be me getting is all messed up - but could you clarify??

This is entirely possible. It was really frustrating sending them out the first time, because occasionally, it would go from “few seconds” to “five minutes”, and Rysto’s PM may have timed out. Incedentally, this is why I screwed up–it was taking so long, I was quick to take a time-saving cheat, and didn’t notice I had to click on the bcc button to make it bcc.

That’s fine. Either our Mod is lying or mistaken, in which case what’s the point since we are all phuqued. If we ask a Mod a question and don’t get a truthful or accurate answer then we might as well be playing crazy eights. Or you are lying in which case scummituide follows you like flies on a rotting corpse.

Seems like an issue for you and pede to take up.

Sure thing. I want to play this game on post set knowledge. I remain unconvinced that pre set information is a reasonable basis for post set conclusions. That’s all I am saying.

I believe that sach was probably a pre set vanilla. That, however, has no impact on him being high on my initial scum list post set. I’ve played with a number of these fine folks before. But what they were in previous games don’t have doodly squat about how I see them now. Same thing on pre v post set.

I am treating post set as a brand new game. If others want to ascribe certain information from previous games (i.e. Pre set or any other played game) then go for it. Just not making a whole lot of sense for me personlly.

Meh, my two cents.

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to pop in and say hi, I have been involved with moving this weekend so am just trying to quickly catch up with what is going on.

Thus far I see absolutely nothing that is persuading me to vote for anyone. I always have this problem on Day One (I have only actually played one game, but have read several others and have never felt seriously suspicious of anyone on Day One). Last game I decided to pick a player at random and push that vote hard, which nearly got me lynched. So now I know what NOT to do…or rather, one of the things in the near-infinite set of things not to do.

I am torn between not wanting to vote for someone without a good reason and not wanting to attract justifiable suspicion for voting late and/or randomly. So I guess I will probably throw down some random votes tomorrow if nobody has piqued my suspicions by then. Thoughts and discussion on this conundrum welcome…

Wonderful. Ok back to friggin’ square one since this makes sense, as well.

Unvote All

I still have some major vibes but am going to vote and unvote in blocks from here on out. Just to durn complicated for me otherwise.
