Having just finished a reread, it will be a good time to place a vote.
Firstly, my pool of suspects will (for the time being) be confined to the players who claimed vanilla, the rival claimants for the Paranoid Doc role and Flyfisheron.
I don’'t propose to vote for either NAF or Oredigger Today because of the possibility that the scum claimant is the Jester. That means lynching either Flyfisheron or lynching into the claimed vanilla pool.
Flyfisheron’s total inactivity makes him a major candidate for a Modkill. This could cause problems if we do not learn the alignment and roles of modkills. I’ve asked Pedescribe what the policy is; if he says we do not learn the alignment or role, I feel we should lynch Flyfisheron Today so we do get this information. Until we get a reply to the question, however, I am going to proceed on the basis that we learn the alignment and role of modkilled players, and not advocate a lynch of our missing player.
So who am I suspicious of?
I assume it is common ground among us that one of NAF or Oredigger is a scum. Lynching one now would either remove one scum, or leave the survivor to the tender mercies of the Vig. The risk there is that we lynch the Jester, causing one of us to convert and lose their powers. That player could claim that they were affected by the induced madness of being in close proximity to me to explain the power loss; an ongoing possible problem.
The downside of lynching the Jester is quite considerable, and I don’t think I want to risk it. So I will not be voting for NAF or Oredigger Today.
It should come as no surprise that I am suspicious of NaturalBornChap. After all, he was my first choice Yesterday, and he has continued his suspicious behaviour Today.
Let’s start my analysis of Today with post [post=10205539]657[/post]. What caught my eye here was that NBC tried to derail the mass claim by saying “This all picked up steam right now when we have precious little time to make any other choices.” Consider that at this point the Day was less than half over; there were approx 63 hours until Dusk. That’s not “precious little time.”
Then, in post [post=10206056]667[/post] NBC alleges that Storyteller was the first player to try and suggest that holding up the mass-claim process was scummy (in post [post=10205236]651[/post]). This does not look right, given that in the same post, Storyteller suggested that if TotalLost had information that suggested the mass claim was bad for the Town she should share it.
Then, in post [post=10210118]807[/post], NBC advocates lynching one of the Paranoid Doc claimants, ignoring the risk that we might lynch the Jester.
Somewhere in the middle of this, I had a WIFOM moment. NBC is tilting at windmills, and almost appears as if he’s trying to raise the suspicions of one of the game’s better analysts. I asked myself if that was just what he was doing, trying to get lynched because he is the Jester.
I went off looking for other candidates, and (to be honest) have not many good traces. The best appears to be the strange vote by DarkCookies on first Squiddio and then NAF; the trouble is that this is so weak compared to NBC that I struggle to see whether this could bear the weight of a full vote.
I think I’m just going to have to bite the bullet and vote my suspicion, putting NBC at the top of the list. At this point, with nothing else to go on, I’m going to put DarkCookies second, and place a filler vote for Flyfisheron to make it all count.
Vote :
1. NaturalBornChap
2. DarkCookies
3. Flyfisheron
My other votes from Yesterday were Peekercpa and Zsofia; the former is currently not on my suspect list by virtue of having claimed a power role and not been faced with a counterclaim, and Zsofia’s innocence has been conclusively shown.
