Twelve hours, yes. So…twelve hours from right now, then.
Well… the thing is: tirial being lynched would give scum a definitive advantage. Me being lynched? Meh… especially if the Recruit didn’t know I was the mason yesterday. It changes if the Recruit knew my mason-ness yesterday.
However, Cookies leaves the impression that:
- The idea that I am a mason came to her in a flash toDay (when she saw Hal was a mason).
- tirial’s last post before the deadline yesterDay confused the hell out of her. (It confused the hell out of me). She waited for some kind of response from anyone (which didn’t come, for 8 hours straight), left it for 1.5 hours and finally did the only thing she could think of (tying the vote)
Under those circumstances (as The Recruit) she could easily have played possum or voted any other way without blame on her. At all. However, she acted consistently: she had certain sympathies for tirial embedded in her and… well, we all know what happened next.
And announcing her discovery of my masonhood to the world doesn’t make much sense either, does it? Of course The Recruit wouldn’t claim masonhood under current circumstances, but a wiser course of action would have been to prepare the ground so that if I was forced to declare my declaration could be somehow contested and used to sow uncertainty.
The current scenario pretty much gives The Recruit a 50% of winning. A controversy (of some kind) around my claim would help better those odds for The Recuit.
… I mentioned it somewhere else before, but it bears repeating. I’m having my “Charlie Brown in the 9th inning, with two outs, at bat” moment.
Will I be the goat?
Will I be the hero?
Tune in this afternoon!
I watch a lot of Lost and Battlestar Galactica on iTunes/dvd, and I must say that playing Mafia has added an extra level of enjoyment to watching both. It has done absolutely nothing for my patience though. I neeeeeeeed my (commercial-free) Mafia fix…
You do realize you have already won, don’t you?
Unless, of course, I do a sudden turn against you…
I hope we’ve both won. Or are you nursing some wounded masonly pride?
I suppose what I’m really jonesing for is free reign in the forbidden thread.
… see, the problem is (if you accept my theories regarding The Hybrid), that even though you already know without a question who is The Recruit, from my point of view there still is some doubt.
Maybe you played the role of The Recruit (aka Lamb in Wolfskin) exceedingly well… and then I lose.
(Honestly: I never played to win as a Mason. I figured it was an extreme longshot. Surprisingly, though, we were intact well into the endgame. And if we Masons didn’t “win”, I don’t have anyone to blame but myself: if I hadn’t had my feud with tirial, we could, like she said, have “plowed through all opposition”).
So… here I am… wearing out the F5 key on my keyboard…
Would it be actually *wrong * to look into the forbidden thread? I mean, the game is technically over, isn’t it? ISN’T IT?
I’m dreading an undead apparition…
BOO!
EEk! Ahem… [regaining manly composure/] That does it for me. This place is haunted. I’m signing off.
Very nice indeed. That coupled with your snarky PM a few days ago leaves me wondering who the hell you are.
Anyway, nesta, a member of the Mafia, has been lynched. Congratulations to the Town!
And congratulations to all of those who made this such a lot of fun. Sorry my moderation was imperfect at best.
Hurrah!!!
Go town!
I totally thought the recruit was Cookies, so what do I know?
Finally I get to be on the winning team! I can’t say that I did much to help our cause, and possibly hindered it, but at least it didn’t result in failure!
Muchos kudos to the last of the townies, you done well.
Hoorah, town!
And a sincere thank you to our moderator and all of the players who made this game fun to play (for two days :smack: ) and to watch.
Yay! Wow, this was a crazy two months. I’m glad I have a win to show for it, even if I’m sharing it with the entire town and not just the other Masons. Diggit and Hal, you’re awesome. Didn’t we almost have it all…?
Many thanks to Gadarene, who now needs to share all the behind-the-scenes stuff, like what the hell happened on each of those three nights! Actually, I want to hear stories from everyone, especially that turncoat recruit.
Nice play Diggit… we almost had you.
Well, I’ll give you a quick run down.
First no kill night we targetted Idle Thoughts (the night he should have died, but didn’t). We did so because we were quite certain he was either a mason or a power role.
When that failed, we thought he might have been the doctor, so we decided to target the other potential doctor, tirial (who obviously self protected) and at that point we were fairly sure she was the doctor between the two of them, but we still weren’t sure.
The next night, because we weren’t 100% sure, weren’t ready to recruit, and didn’t want to waste a kill decided that we’d target neither, so we tried to frame **Hal Briston ** by targetting nesta.
Only did we find out the next night that Idle Thoughts should have been dead AND that nesta was protected by the zombie Night Watchman and ALSO should technically have been dead.
That’s why, when it came down the the recruit, I was debating between Cookies and nesta; I pretty much foresaw that it would come down to those two and one of the Masons. So, I decided to pick nesta mostly because, I thought at the time he was the third Mason (I knew Millit and Hal were at that point), and figured if the town thought it was a Mason that was recruited, he’d be the last one that would get killed, and if he was town, it would be either him or **Cookies ** that would be the last one that got killed.
I had this whole ellaborate plan to get a Mason lynched, but… I didn’t have time to get it into action. Sigh…
Darn… SO close.
Oh, and for those not following the forbidden thread: I’ll probably be starting the next game on Monday, for anyone interested. It’s going to be somewhat complex, but I think it will be a lot of fun (at least for me :)).
