Mafia: The Mob is Recruiting [Game Finished]

I wouldn’t mind. I don’t think the boss is so dumb as to blurt it out, and starting Tomorrow we’ll actually have some interesting data to process.

I’ve already said my opinion on what the power roles ought to do tonight, and other strategic events (like role claims) are better dealt with within the context they arise.

Yeah, nothing going on, move up dusk.

Are we allowed to strategize at Night? If not, can we keep the strategy conversation going for Tonight only? Either way, I’m all about getting the show on the road.

Why not?

Let’s move it up.

Sorry, no substantial discussion at night. Fluff posts only.

Sounds fine by me.

Move it up and add more time to the next Day. Although I fear we’ll need a few more days until there’s heavy conversation going on. Until the corpses start falling, we’re not getting much info. The Boss will probably recruit tonight, and unless there’s a witness, it will be difficult to do much with that.

i don’t think we’re achieving much today, by all means let the curtain of night descend.

Moving things up is okay by me.

This might be confusing to other people, so I’d like to clarify it. We’ll need to lynch the godfather, and anyone that he’s recruited before he dies, in order to win. When the godfather is dead, the mafia can no longer increase in number, but they can still night-kill us and force a win by outnumbering us.

I’m fine with ending the day early, but I have one little problem:

(adding probably a little to Night, and the rest to the next Day to catch up)

Is adding time to the Night really necessary? There is only the Godfather, so it’s not like the scum have anything to discuss. I assume the single scum is going to make a pick and end the night five minutes later. Not really a need for more night time.

That is true. I’m not saying we don’t need to lynch converted scum. Obviously, we need to do so to win the game. However, if we lynch the converted scum every day, but never lynch the godfather, we will lose. Once we lynch the godfather, we don’t need to worry about information changing, making it that much easier to take out all the remaining living scum. Taking out the godfather has got to be the highest priority to the point that we shouldn’t lynch other scum purposely unless we think they are the godfather. We can take them out after the godfather has been lynched.

Several have night actions available and I don’t want to exclude anyone from doing their thing who may have counted on the end of the Day.

The town has unanimously agreed to forego today’s lynching with an overwhelming 18 votes for “No Lynch”. The two or three industrious folks among you spend the time building a proper gallows, while the rest sit around, play cards and go to bed.

Night has fallen. The sun will rise on Wednesday, February 27 at 11am Central time*.

Characters with night powers, please let me know your night actions by Dawn. Newer players, just a reminder that only fluff posts are allowed at night - no consequential discussion of any kind.

*I will extend this slightly if necessary to make sure people have a chance to act.

puts down his hammer, rubs his wrist, and goes over to watch a few dopers playing Euchre.

Okay, now I feel nervous. Anybody else want a cocktail?

I don’t much feel like playing cards.

Hey, what? Wait! Don’t end the Day, I just got back!

Crap, too late.

It has been kinda interesting reading a whole Day that I didn’t participate in. I have lots of groovy notes and plan to be back to my high post count self by the time the next Day starts.

Sorry for missing the Day. :o

Seconded!

You took away the Day from all of us who can’t post on the weekend. Of course those who were already talking are fine with ending early–it’s those of us who didn’t get a chance who’d object! Bad, moderator, bad!

Not that it’d change the outcome.

We’ll start soon enough, and we’ll most likely all be here to add what we weren’t able to Yesterday. No harm, no foul.

The only way we could “accidentally” lynch the Doctor is if the Doctor was either a) lynched before they could role-claim, which seems unlikely, or b) the Doctor chooses NOT to make a role-claim, which would be stupid. Of course roles are revealed post-mortem, but the sensible thing to do for a power role on the verge of being lynched is to announce their role. The problem is that revealed power roles also become a liability, so if possible we don’t want to force these roles to claim. Of course, there sometimes comes a point where it makes sense for a power role to reveal themselves and the information they have without necessarily being forced to do so.

:smack: Yeah, that should’ve been obvious. Ok, go ahead and…err…do what you already did.
