Thank you all very much, and my apologies to all future non-PFK 3rd parties – you guys are screwed.
FTR, here are the PMs I received after my Carpenter one:
[QUOTE=storyteller0910]
I have bad news.
You are dead.
That’s the bad news.
The good news is, you get to find out one of the hidden elements of the game. And you still get to play!
Yes, the Carpenter is no more. His soul has been consigned to whatever waits for all of us once the end has happened. His body has been hollowed, stripped of everything that once made it human. The shell has been remodeled, made into a comfortable residence for a nameless, malevolent creature of extraordinary power, who views this sad pilgrimage as a chance to entertain itself with the hapless mortals taking the trip.
That’d be you.
Welcome to the game; you are THE NAMELESS
You are a third party, but you are nothing so base and simplistic as a serial killer. You wish to be amused, and while death is amusing, like so many good things it gets repetitive after a while. Accordingly, your win condition is as follows:
You will win the game if, at the beginning of any Night, there are five or fewer players still alive and at least six of the following conditions have been satisfied:
- At least one Scum has been lynched with your vote on the wagon.
- At least one Townie has been lynched with your vote on the wagon.
- Someone has successfully investigated a Scum player.
- At least one kill attempt is blocked, protected, redirected, or otherwise fails to hit its target.
- Any player is lynched with less than 25% of the total population voting for him or her.
- A Day passes with no deaths.
- All Scum tools have been played, including at least one Sacrificial Knife.
- The Seraph is dead by any means.
- There are three or fewer players still alive.
- You kill someone.
If you happen to be alive when this happens, you will steal the win from all other parties.
If you are no longer alive when this happens, you will win with either side.
If the game ends with more than five players alive, and/or if fewer than six of the ten conditions outlined above are satisfied, you will not win at all.
But that’s impossible, you say. How can I accomplish this?
Glad you asked. A second PM is on its way.

THE NAMELESS: Powers and abilities
First, you are flatly immune to the Bloody Spear and the sacrificial knives. A failed attempt on your life will trigger condition #4 from your win condition list.
You can be Night-killed is by the Shipman, by poison, or by the Carpenter’s deathtrap.
You can be lynched like anyone else.
You will note that investigations always deliver a Scum/not-Scum response. Thus they will not reveal your identity. However, if you happen to be investigated while under the influence of the Canon’s potion of True Sight, your true alignment will be revealed to the investigator.
You may act any Night that you wish. You may choose as your action the power of any dead player who has not already used his or her power, though (like the player in question) you may use each power only once. So, for example, if the Man of Law dies on Day One, you may investigate a player on Night One. You may not subsequently investigate anyone, but if (for example) the Reeve dies on Night One without having used his/her power, you may use the Reeve’s investigation on Night Two (or thereafter). If a Scum player dies, you may not use his or her original Town ability.
You have one ability accessible to you from the outset:
- Kill someone. You may do this up to two times in the game. However, be aware that the color of the kill will clearly distinguish your kill from all of the known methods of killing in the game. You cannot kill the Seraph. Your kill can be blocked or protected against as if it were a standard Scum kill.
Please confirm that you have receieved and understood these messages.
Good luck!
