Hope you manage to post, I’m still curious about your comment on the scum win condition.
@ Gregorio, Hirka and Orcenio, how’s it going? What do you make of the game so far?

We better get good color on this game, I only signed up for the romance…
Off topic-has there ever been a game with all of the players anonymous? Because I see how past play influences this and all games. That’d be cool. And if you alluded to a player’s possible real identity, you’d automatically get killed. I’m sure I’m not the first to think of it, anybody know of a game like that?
Off off topic-I hired the cute one. Surprise.
Busy day tomorrow, probably won’t be back here until early evening. But I’ll vote now, just in case.
Vote SilverJan.
I don’t like this post. Suspicious, suspect, suspicious.
What time does day end on Friday? Early or late?
What makes Silver Jan’s post suspicious?
Cuz really your vote strikes me as opportunistic. Silver Jan has a vote, and Scathach (I think) has indicated suspicion with underwhelming support.
And your comment makes it seem like you just discovered Silver Jan’s post and the scumminess of it should be obvious.
damn, maybe my new play style is contagious, but I do sure wish people would explain themselves instead of just commenting like everything is obvious. I mean, come on people!
Are you saying you find Silver Jan’s vote suspicious, or are you just registering an aesthetic dislike to someone using the word suspicious twice and suspect once in a post? And if you do find it suspicious, why?
For some reason SilverJan ‘pinged’ me. I wasn’t sure why, and at first I thought she was a newbie, but posted too much like a veteran. So, I went back through her posts, realized she was obviously a vet, and she never said otherwise. “So,” my little mind says, “What the hell was it?”
I did not like her using the words suspicious, suspect, suspicious on basically her interior dialogue in the space of two sentences. It felt wrong, too repetitive. Perhaps it was a little of the S. Africa foreignness coming through, dunno.
Similar to “I’m not lying, why do you say I’m lying? I hate when people think I am lying.” All I hear in those sentences is lying, lying, lying."
Yeah, I know this is flimsy, first day grasping at straws. But I’m ok with it, best I got at the moment.
This would be more palatable if it weren’t for the timing.
Vote Count:
Precambrianmollusc (3): Astral Rejection, septimus, wevets

Trepa, I forgot to unvote Svejk, my apologies.
Unvote svejk
Woo hoo! I’m rising towards the top of the charts. It doesn’t take much to get lynched around here.
Anyway, can someone tell me what the “third vote rule” is? I tried think of what it might be, but it isn’t the third person to vote, or the person to vote for the third person to get votes, or the person to make three votes for a particular person, I’m at a loss, probably not for the first time this game either.
I’m relatively a noobie myself, but I think this refers to a statistical tendency, at least in earlier times, for the 3rd vote against a candidate to be by a Scum, the 3rd vote being when miscellaneous votes change into an emerging bandwagon.
But the idea is very familiar now, so Scum is more likely to cast the 2nd or 4th vote; indeed your 3rd vote could be called Townish since “Scum wouldn’t dare cast the 3rd vote!”
Another term you’ll hear is “WIFOM” which means “He knows I’ll think my wine is poisoned and will switch wineglasses with him, therefore I won’t switch glasses since he poisoned his not mine.”
Thus, PCM is accusing you of being a Scum hiding your vote in 3rd position: Scum “wouldn’t do that”, so Scum wevets is doing it as a WIFOM ploy. (This all seems so convoluted it just makes me happier to Lynch PCM.)
(Spoiler: Both wineglases are poisoned. )
Vote early, vote late, meh.
I voted when I did because I’m busy as all hell today. Hence this post @ 0542 in the morning.
I can’t tell how much of this is intended as humor and how much is serious. Would a newbie scum, especially one who’s asking about it, know about the third vote being a scum tell? Would a newbie scum, unaware of the tell, intentionally avoid placing a third vote or intentionally place a third vote to look townish? Are you really using this to support your case against Precambrian?
Did you see my question about your vote on Precambrian in #300?
I’ve been considering the “lynch the lurker” concept, particularly early in the game; it seems to me a good alternative to my first reaction to abstain if there are no convincing cases otherwise - if we’re going to have a bad lynch and lose a town, it’s probably better to lose one who’s not contributing.
will hopefully be back with more stuff in a bit
random: my car horn is apparently allergic to the cold weather and started going off on it’s own at 3:30 this morning; neither of us even heard it until a neighbour eventually rang our doorbell - I bet we’re super popular with folks this morning.
bleached; bolding mine. I’m not sold on the idea of lynching Precam for this vote; in context, I read the “so he claims” as a tongue-in-cheek response to Svejk’s call for “false accusations”.
I had intended to review ed’s posts this morning to see if there was any substance to my feeling that he’s posting a lot but saying nothing, but won’t have time until later today, in case anyone else was bored and wanted to do the same.
Wevets: Newbie. Also contributing a lot. Again, nothing I can point to as town, but to me it just seems really townie.
Mahaloth: I’ve talked about previously. On balance, he comes across town, if anything just because he reacted to my post. (in my experience) Scum try to ignore accusations unless a few pile up.
Silver Jan: Just usually posts more fluff. Like, it almost seems as if she’s deliberately not trying to do anything to garner suspicion.
Choie: Honestly, I dunno. Mainly because I played with her before in a game where she was town and she seems to be playing similarly. And I guess after that game I just associate her name with town.
Those are my reasons, terrible as most of them are.
Ok, I have to set you right about fluff, I haven’t had a lot of time on my hands with Mr Silver Jan having cancer and all (the op was a success) and I am not a very good nurse I have been reading posts and then hit reply and think “what was I going to write?” I have also been sober this entire game lol Give me time, after a bottle of wine or 2 I will start talking crap again
Going to read to the end now.

Ok then, please rephrase those TWO sentences for me without using the word suspicious??? I was trying to get my point across and be very clear at the same time!
Vote fisha
It’s partly an OMGUS and partly because I think fisha’s vote for me is a very opportunistic vote, especially as the original vote for me was apparently a random one.
Wow, I used vote 3 times in ONE sentence, I must be scum!!! I will calm down now.

Translating From Scummish to Townish:
“I want to say something bad about Ed because I want him lynched, but I can’t really find anything. So I’ll make a vague comment about him and not support it at all.”
Vote early, vote late, meh.

That’s understandable.
But a poorly reasoned vote after another player expresses suspicion of the same player (at first with no explanation and then with a ‘she’s not posting as much fluff as I expected’ reason.) strikes me as somewhat opportunistic.
