Our public library lists a DVD of ‘Looking For Mr. Goodbar’ is available for rental. It seems to be a bootleggish thing, but it is available
‘Diary of A Mad Housewife’ is available through the library via something called ‘Hoopla’, for what it’s worth. I remember that movie, it was very good. I read the book before the movie, and the book was excellent. Wonderful vignettes of the tense, put-upon wife. The striving middle class in a New York City that is no more.
The book was good, but I didn’t care for the ending. A wishy-washy anti-climax in my view. Yeah, I suppose it fit Tina’s personality, but still, as endings go, strictly meh.
I loved Richard Benjamin’s performance as the whiny snot of a condescending husband.
“Your mother is a college graduate, but she still can’t cook a three minute egg.” I would have served it raw, and watched him crack it open.
