Whoa, dude, didn’t you know?
It’s all in the peel, man, all in the peel.

Um, I think you are confusing “secular” with “atheistic” or something…
Secular - 1 a : of or relating to the worldly or temporal b : not overtly or specifically religious c : not ecclesiastical or clerical
I think this board fits the definition of “secular” quite well. It isn’t here for a religious purpose, therefore it is secular. Doesn’t mean or imply nothing religious ever happens here, or that the members themselves aren’t religious. Just that the board’s purpose isn’t religious.
Lurk more. Read the rules (here: FAQ - guidelines for posting at the SDMB. Read some old threads (start here: Watershed moments in SDMB history; or, the SDMB Anthology Project.
Because, really: if you thought your MPSIMS Christmas thread was appropriate, if you thought the awards thread was a good idea, and if you think this thread is a good idea, then you don’t know enough about the SDMB, its rules, and its history.
I heard somewhere that bananas make people feel happy(they contain serotonin or some such). However a google and a wikipedia search prove that I was wrong, bananas are not a naturall antidepressant. But they are sweet, pleasant to chew and are very nutricous so iceland should eat some anyway.
Another good thing to do in the winter is switch to brighter lightbulbs and generally have more of them working. And if this doesn’t help then a Rolling Stones song may contain the answer to all Iceland’s troubles:
And though she’s not really ill
There’s a little yellow pill…
I wish I still lived in NC. I want to hang out with you.
They are the most radioactive of all foods, beating out Mr. Potato by a good margin.
I, for one, welcome our new yellow potassium-enriched overlords…
If you scroll down to the middle of this page, there’s a table of radioactivity levels of some common foods. It looks to me like Brazil nuts are considerably more radioactive than bananas in terms of picocuries per kilogram (although, it does seem probable that most people eat a far larger mass of bananas than brazil nuts over the course of their lifetimes and thus bananas may be the more significant source of exposure to some radionuclides).
Sometimes the best way to avoid depressing failure is to stick for a while to things you’re good at. Just be careful not to get banned in the process.
I’m joining the insurgance. Some innocent fruit may have to be pulped in the name of keeping the herbs which call themselves fruit from destroying our way of life, but that is the price we must pay!

Now, tell me about your father…
Come now, Brazil nuts are tiny, like 1/8th of an ounce. You have a hefty 7 ounce banana, well, it’s going to have like 20 times the radioactivity of a nut. Sure, you have to be careful of large groups of nuts, but man, if the bananas get in a bunch…watch out!
I assumed he was constipated.
Cool capital name. Nice mythology.
Time to cork this whine . . . past time.
