I included a real one on purpose…then found on googling that another one was real, and a third was an actual town name in a different state.

As you might know, Northern New England is full of towns named after more exotic locals like Egypt, Poland, Berlin (but we deliberately misprounce it) and Paris. So these ought to fit in nicely…

Interesting aside: I believe it was Bill Bryson who once said that most place names in America or Australia are named after the first White person to get there or the last Native Inhabitant to leave.

I thought it was in Nevada.
I thought it was “Pam’s Bottom”.
Years ago, in fact, decades ago, National Lampoon had a two page map of a made-up version of flyover country. The “states” had names like Minnebraska and Kentockowa, and the majority of the town names were ‘filthy’ as you put it. Still, a lot of them were merely bizarre and funny, such as one small town named “Goiter”.
In retrospect, it’s not all that unusual for small German towns to have funny names. One that I remember in particular is Igel (Hedgehog) on the border of Luxembourg.
(IIRC ‘hedgehog’ means something different in Britain, on which version of English my standby German/English dictionary was based, but still.)
Heinlein City, Luna
Near Ruttingham Farm?
How about Onett or Threed?
Texas towns always seem to have a certain ring to them. King of the Hill seems to nail it dead on with the names of its fictional places; Arlen, McMaynerbury, and so on.

The Cleveland imaginary suburb name generator:
Take a two syllable word; a 19th century historic figure with an Anglo name, a geographic feature, a type of deciduous tree, or something else that sounds sylvan and quaint.
Add “Heights” to it.
Cedar Heights? Valley Heights? Fillmore Heights? The possibilities are unlimited.
The New Mexico imaginary town name generator:
Take a Spanish first name.
If it’s a woman’s name, add “Santa” as a prefix. If it’s a man’s name, add “Santo” to the beginning.
