Friend wants to shrinkify text & stuff on his giant new monitor.
Windows 10 allows us to use the Control Panel to change the Display to smaller (100%), medium (125%), or larger (150%). But there doesn’t appear to be a setting below 100%.
There’s also a “set custom text size” that lets us scale to a percentage of normal size…as long as that percentage is 100% OR MORE.
First, make sure the computer is using the correct (native) resolution for that monitor. Look up the monitor’s make/model, and make sure the advertised resolution corresponds to the selected resolution. Sometimes the video output or cable limits the resolution; in this case, the highest resolution option offered in Windows is still lower than what the monitor is capable of. Sometimes the monitor settings need to be adjusted to enable higher resolution (e.g. for a DisplayPort connection, in some situations the MST needs to be set to OFF, sometimes to OFF.)
I only say that because the font being too large is an uncommon complaint for a modern monitor, if it’s configured correctly.
