Making A Doper's Dream Come True

Is jr8 really the Fifth Beatle?

Oh sure, an offshoot of my thread is doing better than the original.

I’m being bested by a SEQUEL!!!:smack:

ps. jr8 rocks!!

I’m jealous that Jazzmine is making jr8’s dreams come true and not mine.

What are your dreams, baby?

jr8n’t here yet, I see…

Oi!

although i admit that Jr8 is a much better man than me.

I personally feel that Jr8 is underrated.

I think that Jr8 needs to read more threads!

He’s a good chap.

ONE potato…

TWO potato…

(May Londope attendees will get this)

Tansu, I still recall you describing him as a lovely furry chap. He is lovely, but I didn’t get close enough to see if he was furry.

He is a lovely guy in person, as well, but isn’t vain enough.

Well, he’s been on the board at least one more time. Good lord, it’s like throwing a surprise party and not knowing exactly when the guest-of-honor is going to show up so everyone has to keep hiding every time they hear a noise at the door. Well, it’s exactly like that - only different. heh.

Furry men are good.

jr8 is having a Sally Fields moment right now, and may spontaneously combust. Youse guys is the bestestest (especially jazzmine for starting this thread in the first place)!

[sub]Aw shucks… :o[/sub]

Actually, it’s probably a good thing I had a niggling suspicion my name would get dropped somewhere or other after my comments in the other thread, as I normally only bother to do vanity searches every couple of weeks. Even you guys can’t make up that many nice things about me…

I suppose I owe some people some responses:

That’s okay – I aspire to be like me too.

Suddenly I have this fear a giant number is going to fall on me…

Well, I’ve tried appearing in the guises of a bull and a swan, but apparently there are laws against that sort of thing these days. And don’t even get me started on the whole “shower of gold” fiasco…

Other side from where?

Well thank you. However, I have to confess that it’s an old post of mine from this thread I resurrected for your entertainment and amusement.

The neighborhood, BTW, is completely jaded about the odd flaming car. Ain’t urban life grand?

Why, I stand for Truth, Justice and the American Way, of course (unless you’re december, in which case I’m an anti-American Stalinist flunky on Saddam Hussein’s payroll). I also stand for National Anthems, but never for the Hallelujah Chorus.

Yeah, that’s what the court-appointed psychiatrist said, too.

I keep frozen peas under my hat.

Using my real name, Googlism reveals that “[jr8] is a white man who was raised by apache indians.” Geez – and all these years my parents had been telling me I just wasn’t getting enough sunlight…

Does that mean I can invade Iraq too?

Oh, if I only had a dime every time a woman said that to me…

Oh, if I only had a dime every time I wished a woman had said that to me. Except for the word “little”, that is.

No. I was going to be the fifth member of another famous band, but in the end they decided JABBA was too silly a name.

Only when I forget to take my medication.

What can I say? I’ve had more practice at it.

I’m forced to agree.

I’m forced to disagree (by the spouse, who already thinks I spend too much time online).

My memory is dimmed by alcohol and time. This wasn’t the thing with the chairs, was it?

:dubious: Didn’t we chat for a while? How close do you have to be? **

I’m working on that second part as we speak.

For many things, yes. Amongst other things, we’re excellent at exfoliation.

Y’know… if anyone wanted to say more nice things about me, I could, y’know, avert my eyes or somethin’.
No pressure…

you’ve certainly become the stereotypical celebrity, haven’t you?
can’t believe you exist until you read about yourself in the papers!

tsk tsk… :stuck_out_tongue:

While you’re poking around here, jr8, I thought I’d let you know that you got a name-check at the recent Philly bi-weekly dinner.

Query: Is your username pronounced “junior-eight,” “gyrate” or “great”?

moi it’s J-R-8…
I like jr8
I think he’s fecking great
he’s such a dear
he buys the beer
I’m happy that he’s my mate…

heh… If I had a muse, she’d be hanging herself right now!

jr8 was missed at the Brumdope this weekend. I like him a lot. He sings terribly well and I like spotting him at the Proms. Lovely beardy man.

Plus, he’s a non-American Yank, like meself.
