There is a common symbolic device used in Japanese anime where a male character, upon spotting a sexy girl, gets a nosebleed. I’ve discovered, much to my annoyance, that this has an actual biological basis.
I made the connection because I used to get nosebleeds quite frequently, and then the frequency diminished quite noticeably when I started playing World of Warcraft. The significant thing here is that playing WoW started taking up so much of my time that I was actually neglecting my porn collection. Before WoW I was, um, attending to the health of my prostate on a nightly basis.
Recently, though, I decided I needed to get back to my porn, partly because I need my external hard drive for backups and there’s currently not enough room on it for that.* So I need to clear all that porn off. I could just quickly shuffle it all off to DVDs, but experience has shown me that once I’ve burned the stuff to DVD I tend to never get back to looking at it. While stuff is still on my hard drive I can use a feature of the Mac OS to color code things to indicate “I’ve looked at this already”, but I can’t do that once the files are burned to a DVD. Without the color coding it gets frustrating trying to go back to the DVD and figure out what I have and haven’t viewed yet. So, I need to view everything before I burn it.
So anyway, now that I’m back to fapping on a regular basis … the nosebleeds are also back. I frequently get them immediately after orgasm, but I get them at other times too, mostly when I’m blowing my nose. Very annoying.
Is this just a matter of a blood pressure spike at the moment of orgasm causing a rupture in the naturally weak nasal lining? Any way to prevent/reduce these nosebleeds?
*This is one of the downsides of having an insanely fast Internet connection. I can download this stuff a lot faster than I can look at it, so it tends to pile up.

Talk to your doctor. If nosebleed are frequent there are some things he can do, like cauterize the blood vessels in your nose.
I doubt that this has any bearing whatsoever on the OP, beyond an interesting cultural reference from yesteryear. I don’t think the medical diagnosis in this is particularly accurate, I’m just posting it due to the coincidental nature of the character’s medical condition. (People with aortic aneurisms don’t really get nosebleeds, do they?!) From here:
Erections are achieved when NO (nitrous oxide) levels in the blood increase, causing blood vessels to dilate. This lets blood rapidly flow into the three spongy areas of your penis (or vagina, but probably not both). It’s not a terribly localized effect, which is also why arousal leads to flushed faces (dilated capillaries in the cheeks) and pink or red areolas. In your case, the capillaries in your nose are also affected. They’re bigger than normal and filled with excess blood which may leak out through tiny holes, and the result is a mild nosebleed.
Dumb question: are you taking any antihistamines? I had nosebleeds during sex twice while I was on Zyrtec, and my only theory was that it was drying me up SO well that it made me more prone to nosebleeds. Since discontinuing it, I haven’t had any problems.
