I have two emails in my MS Outlook in box that I can’t “see.” They blink on and off. I can’t highlight them to delete them.
I’m afraid they’re trying to take me over. But…how do I delete them if I can’t put a focus on them?
Evil nasty bastards…
Thanks for any advice.
Do you mean the subject line is blinking just in the message listing? I’ve never heard of that before - I imagine it’s some weird character rendering issue rather than an active virus infection.
If you can’t click on the message title, click the message below or above in the list, use the arrow keys to move the highlight onto the offending message, then hit the delete key.
Mangetout: I tried that, but the offending message titles, by blinking on and off, escaped being grouped together with the other messages in the highlighted block.
I ended up taking the rather drastic approach of deleting my entire outlook.pst file. Annoying to lose all my incoming messages for the first quarter of the year, but I did first take the time to copy my most vital mail to a second .pst.
Weird and irritating. And scary. I didn’t like having to nuke it from orbit…but as we all know, it’s the only way to be sure.
I drink a curse on the people who create things like this!
I’ve never heard of anything like it. I think I would be looking for a rogue plugin installed in Outlook itself. A mail message should not be able to animate its subject line in the inbox listing, ever.
