Mama Gena---know anything about her?

I’m pretty sure my pal who told me that she has recently graduated from Mama Gena’s School of Womanly Arts has lost her ever-lovin’ mind, not to mention a significant amount of money. And I’m even more afraid that, at some point, she is going to try recruiting me, although none of my Google searching has turned this type of scam up.

I have no problem not listening to any of it, and in fact the tone of the email she sent about her Mastery Experience (as it’s called) makes me not want to talk to her at all, full of fabulousness though it was. I’m just wondering if there’s more to this than just women who have a lot of money to spend giving it to this “school” when it seems to me that one could just buy the book and save thousands of dollars, if one even wanted to buy the book.

What say the wise (and fabulous) Dopers? Anyone have any experience with this?

And believe me, I’m not against women believing that they’re wonderful and sensual and goddesses or whatever. I just don’t need to part with 5 grand for anyone to instruct me in following my desires or whatever.

Yikes.

No shit, eh? Glad it’s not just me.

Sounds like an expensive motivational seminar marketed to “fabulous ladies”.

Seconded.

  1. The name Mama Gena’s sounds like some off-brand of pasta sauce at Kroger.

  2. They’re offering $1,500 off tuition?!? How much must it cost that they can afford to do that?

  3. Agghh, my eyes! I now want to kill their web designer. With something bright pink.

Presumably pink frees the goddess within.

Or something.

The course itself is $4,950. Accoring to this blog, though, there are additional consults and events and what-have-you that can be purchased for just a fraction more!

What’s with all the references to “womanly arts,” “pleasure,” and “making the world a juicier place with you in it”? Is this a whorehouse?

Sailboat

Someone’s trying to make a buck off of sad, bored women with poor body images and lackluster sex lives? Scandalous.

And whoever wrote the phrase “actualize your full-throttle power”. Truth be told, I couldn’t read past that.

::snicker:: ::chuckle:: ::snort:: ::laugh:: ::guffaw::

ROFLMMFAO!

If it is, it’s still a little pricey.

C’mon, slavegirl training is an old and semi-distinguished occupation. But I have to tell you … making the slavegirl pay for her own training :::wipes tear from eye:: that’s sheer genius!

I know, I think the worst part might be that I didn’t think of this first.

Naw, I could never rook people like that.

I am so, so glad for the sanity check.
