Now, nobody better not be dissing the pompadour…now I’'ll defend the mullet because I’m from the deep south and that’s just what we do…but the pomp…I’ll cut you for dissing that fine hair style…got my switch blade ready right now…
Will you deploy it with hand speed that would scare a samurai?
I could outspin a bass o matic if that is what you are asking…
Every time I see a man bun, I always wonder if it will take over or under 30 seconds to hear about him being vegan.
heh
The “high-and-tight” Mohawk variant that the military sports is also acceptable, IMO. You do NOT want to have to mess with hair on a long deployment to the middle of no-and-where.
Although, during Gulf War v1.0, we went all pretty much voluntarily went “Basic Trainee cue-ball” before hitting the Deep Nothing of central Saudi Arabia “for the duration.”
Southern men (I am married to one) notoriously don’t give a crap about hair…especially the red-neck variety! Mostly they have ball-caps on anyway. I think the cowboy types are different. But then have you noticed the women’s hair in the south? Of course I am generalizing to the extreme.
This is also why the man bun exists, from what I’ve read. It allows you to pull back your hair to cover up baldness, without choosing a “female” hair-style. (See also why people who let their hair grow long also often start growing facial hair. Though I note my facial hair is there to cover up my too-strong chin.)
Given how stupid I think I’d look bald, given the shape of my head, I can’t be too harsh on people who try and cover it up. I think it’s rare that people have the right head shape for the “shave it all off” response.
I’m really just liking it when people have bald spots but maintain the rest of their hair just fine. Not long, but not buzzed or clean shaven, unless your head just has a nice shape to it.
Don’t understand what a beard has to do with man buns, but OK. Normal men have been wearing beards my entire lifetime and much longer without any significant break that I can see. They just weren’t a fashion trend. If anything, anything less than a “full” beard is what is considered trendy or dated.
Seems like a weird idea since male pattern baldness starts in the front and pulling hair back actually exposes the receding hairline.
Well, there have been a couple adult actresses that were good looking, IMHO. But I’ve never seen it in person.
Ya know, way back in 1969 I had a co-worker express the exact same opinion upon spotting a hippie. I wondered at the time why the guy thought he had the right to dictate what somebody else did with his hair. Now it’s 48 years later and I see the same sentiments are held by some. Sad.
I reserve the right to snigger, though.
What about the Prince Valiant haircut? When is that going to come back? Or the Julius Caesar?
That would be my initial reaction, but Natalie Dormer pulled it off IMHO
(google “natalie dormer shaved head”)

I haven’t cut my hair in 16 years. The last time I cut it the lil’wrekker was almost 2 and she screamed bloody murder thinking I was someone else. It was upsetting, for sure! I hated long hair while I highschool and college age, now I prefer it…Things change!
No, you’re not.
the former is called a “pageboy haircut,” FWIW.
I know a whole lot of people who start balding primarily on the top. It’s a hole on the top of their head, while their hairline is exactly where it used to be.
I don’t think there is one single pattern for baldness.
Men with long hair look ridiculous, douchey, and feminine no matter how they “style” it. If they kept it short, that would obviate the need to keep it off their necks, now wouldn’t it?
