Yeah, I know it’s hard to diagnose from afar - he’s in a different continent than most of us.
However. People eat large amounts of food all the time. Contests, free buffet, July 4th, you name it. 28 eggs is a decent volume, but not 68 hot dogs and buns, or even a 72oz - or larger - steak.
Is it the yolks? Cause this guy can drink some fookin eggs right down. Then another 40 scrambled later in the day. And this lunkhead puts 50 away, and seems to have survived.
Pre-existing condition of some kind? Food poisoning? This is Tunisia, after all.
It really doesn’t sound related, does it? 28 raw eggs is somewhat gross, but not a HUGE amount of intake by any stretch. It would be like eating a half gallon of ice cream. No big whoop.
I saw this story on another wire last week I think it was. I had the same question then, did he eat the shells, too? I could see the shells causing a perforation. It’s not obvious from how the story is worded and it’s no clearer a week later (or however long ago that was).
I swear, any time I hear about someone eating raw eggs, I picture that scene. Gaston eating raw eggs, then someone ties a belt around his neck and he flexes his neck muscles and snaps it.
The guy who ate the cockroaches and later died (for another competition), died because he vomited the roaches and sadly aspirated it and died. The vomit went to the wrong pipe, it went to his lungs, and he died by asphyxia.
I wonder if something similar happened here. Large amounts of food eaten quickly, the stomach revolted, and the person sadly asphyxiated in his own mixture of gastric juices and partially digested eggs.
