Man gold-plates porsche. Cool?

I think it’s extremely cool, but I seem to be in the minority here.

If by “cool” you mean “fucking ugly” then I agree.

Any worse than a golden DeLorean?

Tacky as all hell.

Nice scrollwork, though. I have plenty of respect for whoever crafted it, if not for the person who commissioned it.

I think it’s cool, too, Influential Panda. Gaudy, yes, and kind of stupid (who wants to make a sports car heavier?), but cool. I tend to like goofy modifications to cars… and this is a goofy modification squared.

I’m no mathematician or anything, but since when does <40 =50?

I like it. I like the Delorean too.

I’m guessing there’s 10 lbs of glue holding it on.

Actually, yeah. Gold plating is one thing, but gold bricking? WTF? Who knew there were entirely new levels of gauche to achieve in the gold plating expensive cars category?

As car modifications go I don’t think this one looks all that bad.

It’s almost interesting as a concept, but the reality is just moronic.

Personally, I think the texture of the gold bricks is really kinda neat–like snakeskin sorta.

Wouldn’t do it myself, but Ithink it adds rather than subtracts from the appeal.

The plating looks weird to me. I’d rather have a all-chrome car instead.

It says “Steal Me” in bright gold letters.

I don’t mind it a bit. It’ll suck when it gets keyed, though.

He’s pretty much shit a brick there.

It would be much cooler without the brick pattern - if it was just shiny gold everywhere. Because, if they stripped it down to the bare metal (and the metal would have to be flawless) they could electroplate each piece. Probably have to nickle plate first, then gold.

I wonder how fast you get transfered to the fraud team when you call insurance to report your car stolen, then add “and It was covered in $250,000 of gold bricks”

When I was a kid, I fantasized about having an all-chrome Delorean. And when I say all-chrome, I mean it literally. Chrome tires, chrome seats, circuitry made out of chrome…I know it would be heavy and hard to drive, but it would be nice and shiny.

I actually kind of like it.

Did anybody actually think Deloreans were good looking cars? That thing should have “Norelco” on the hood.
