Yeah, me too. I even wonder about the legality of such a thing in some states. It’d be like driving behind a giant mirror reflecting the Sun into your face.
Nope. Draws too much attention. The ultimate sleeper circa 2008? Camry. Circa 1998? Taurus.
Three years old, dull in color, and faster than a JATO powered goat.
Remove the stickers on the rear window, and find a way to disguise the Recaro racing seat, then, yes, as it stands now, I’d say it’s bordering on no, as far as “sleeper” goes
stealth is key with a sleeper, it should have no external cues or hints of modification, it needs to look as close to bone stock as possible
that Karmann is a very nice car, for sure, but loses sleeper points for the stickers and undisguised racing seat, the seat I’m willing to give a pass on though, but the stickers gotta’ go…
If I was to mod my Ion, I’d install the GM Performance Supercharger, replace the shocks, struts, and swaybars with performance pieces, put in a hotter set of cams, Cold Air Intake, a free-er flowing exhaust system, and stickier rubber on all four corners, the exterior of the car would remain unchanged, it’d look just like the myriad other bone-stock Ion Level 2’s out there, mundane, boring, and utilitarian…
until I turned the key and brought the engine to life…
Now, THIS is ALMOSTa sleeper, lose the fancy rims and stickers and we’d have a true Sleeper
I wasn’t able to watch much of the video, YouTube acting up, and had no idea about those.
