manatees dark or white meat

Hi, can I gush just a little? I’m a self admirer (too) and I have to salute how you dropped in that you’d be red meat, in the article on manatees dark or white meat? laughed out loud, so very nicely done!! strangely, I was wondering recently if vegetarians would taste nice , cooked not kissed … or anything!

As a courtesy, here is a link to the column being referred to.

Good takes in the article. I go to Florida a fair amount. I’ve seen Manatees in the water on the Gulf (New Port Richey, Fl.), lots of them. Hard to believe there are only 2600 left. There are huge Manatee rescue outfits down there that move the injured (tow them?) them to a park named Homasassa Springs, north of Tampa, a big fresh water preserve. In that area, they like to blame the boats, and boats DO hit them, but local charter skippers and fishermen claim the Bull, or Brown sharks down there do the Manatees a bigger rudeness than the boats. Manatees HATE cold and so they wind up in the Gulf, moving from chillier rivers and tidal pools in the winter. It is then that they experience the appetites of those sharks.

A wounded Manatee’s flesh opened up, across the back is a dark red, purple even. Truthfully, having seen them, it never occurred to me to have a go at Manatee on the BBQ. Manatees are a cross between my ex-wife and Lena Dunham and Amy Schumer and so I found them distinctly unappetizing. May God forgive my wretched, judgemental, sexist and misogynistic soul.

Is that too rude?
