The most recent poll of Iraqi attitudes was sponsored by the International Republican Institute in October 2004. The results were bad enough that the conservative institute choose not to reveal them on their website. The best spin they could make out of it fueled articles like this in the Washington Post:
Doh! An inexcusable brain fart on my part, for which I apologize.
Doesn’t change the results of the other poll, though. Nor does it change the one you cited, which found that about the same portion of Iraqis believe Iraq is moving in the wrong direction as Americans believe that America is.
Sure, there were those who spun the poll that way at the time. Trouble is, you can’t really tell squat without the detailed results. Makes you wonder though, why the partisan group who sponsored the poll didn’t back up the president by offering a full release.
Sadly, I’m pretty sure they mean “all of us.”
Of course not! There’s always Zell Miller, isn’t there?
So, tell me, how does one go about graduating from being an “amateur terrorist insurgent” to a “pro terrorist leftie”?
You haven’t, though. Clearly, therefore, you are a member of the pro-terror right. Are you also a member of the pro-segretation right?
Well, if we want to start a pissing match about “pro-terror” Americans, it seems only fair we consider how the right has done its part in support of terrorists - gosh, who was it that supplied arms and money to Iraq in its war with Iran? Or to Afghanistan in the 80s? Or, hey, should we bring up Iran-Contra? Noriega? Chile? My bad; those last two weren’t terrorist countries, merely totalitarian regimes that utilized torture and murder to achieve their goals. AFAIK, it wasn’t Carter or Clinton that masterminded any of these. Of course, now I’m sure somebody will come along pointing out how lame this argument is, while continuing to believe the “pro-terror left” is a valid criticism.
woodstock, why do you hate America?
You know us lefties.
You know, I keep meaning to go pro-terror but that license fee is just brutal, so I’ve been kind of holding steady at the top of my amateur game.
And don’t think your failure hasn’t been noticed jayjay. It’s in your file.
Meanwhile, I want to know what Manny has against chimps?
I always knew there really was a permanent record! And wouldn’t you know it’s the teachers that maintain it, too?
