Just a reminder that trying to interfere into an ongoing criminal investigation is Obstruction of Justice.
Congressmen have some immunity from civil suit but they are, so far as I am aware, still at danger of arrest if they’re accused of criminal activity.
Frump claims court staff were crying and apologizing during his booking last week.
No actual mention if any of them called him “Sir” with tears in their eyes, but i guess that goes without saying, right?
"They were incredible. When I went to the courthouse which is also a prison in a sense, they signed me in and I’ll tell you people were crying,” Trump told Fox News. “People that work there. Professionally work there that have no problems putting in murderers and they see everybody. It’s a tough, tough place and they were crying. They were actually crying. They said I’m sorry.”
I guess he figured the “and then everyone clapped” trope didn’t quite fit.
Yeah, that guy who didn’t hold the door for him looked absolutely heartbroken.
So in fact the spokesperson’s claim slightly undersells the difference.
When someone says the murder rate is "nearly three times lower”, I take that as meaning that we can nearly say that the murder rate is 3 times lower, but not quite. So e.g. if New York’s murder rate was 1.6.
But no, the NYC murder rate is simply less than a third of Columbus’. Which, to me at least, is the unambiguous way to state it.
Or is it just me?
Just boggles the mind how much bullshit this guy shovels into the world.
Heard a joke today that made me laugh harder than it probably should’ve:
A man died and went to Heaven. As he stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him.
He asked, ‘What are all those clocks?’
St. Peter answered, ‘Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone who has ever been on earth has a Lie-Clock. Every time you lie, the hands on your clock move.’
‘Oh’, said the man. ‘Whose clock is that?’
‘That’s Mother Teresa’s’, replied St. Peter. ‘The hands have never moved, indicating that she never told a lie.
‘Incredible’, said the man. ‘And whose clock is that one?’
St. Peter responded, ‘That’s Abraham Lincoln’s clock. The hands have moved twice, telling us that Abraham told only two lies in his entire life.’
‘Where’s Donald Trump’s clock?’ asked the man.
St Peter replied, ‘It’s in Jesus’s office. He uses it as a ceiling fan.’
I’m starting to think he carries peeled and quartered onions in his pockets.
That guy was crying, but, ahem, the tears on his cheeks were from laughter.
The first time I heard that joke, the punchline was about Bill Clinton. It has probably been around for generations, and just substitutes the name for whatever politician someone doesn’t like at the time.
Regardless, I saw the video when Trump went into the courthouse. Everyone just looked bored. Nobody was crying. If he claims that this only happened when the cameras weren’t rolling, well of course he would say that.
Now, if what Trump is saying is true, doesn’t that completely discredit the narrative that Trump can’t get a fair trial in Manhattan because of all the resentment against him there?
Quite convoluted sentence structure.
He was crying so hard he couldn’t see anything. When the Orange Traitor is indicted on the classified documents and obstruction charges, I imagine enough tears will be shed to create a new version of the Salton Sea.
Thank goodness that I hadn’t taken a sip of beer before reading that, because I burst out laughing. Otherwise, my monitor would need some cleaning.
Thanks for the laugh!
Only those states that do the right thing.
I will plus one you. 3 x lower just hurts. Does it msan 1/3 or 1/4 and ayway…whats wro g with fractio s?
The deep state people were crying for him and saying they were sorry? No mention about the largest crowd of protesters ever outside?
Even bigger than his inauguration!
He’s already been incarcerated. After all, he was in “the courthouse, which is also a prison in a sense”. I’ve never heard that but IANAL.
Let’s all try to remember this quote when Trump’s lawyers ask for a change of venue because the people of New York City are all biased against him.
