I don’t know if anyone has heard of this movie. It’s in really limited release right now…only four theaters in the Washington DC area. It’s an independent effort…five sisters put it together, and it showed for a few weeks in Branson, MO, then Kansas City, before coming here. I just saw it today and it’s a great movie, which, unfortunately, might not be out for long.
It’s about a family which, about 30-40 years ago, found money raining down from heaven. It’s now the present, and the youngest child of the family, who’s now a nun, is convinved that this was a loan from G-d, and not a gift, and, on Ash Wednesday, decides that by Easter, she has to get the money back and find the people who lost it.
I’d urge anyone in the DC area to make plans to see it, and see it soon, because it might not be around for long. If people want, we could get a group together to see it at the AMC Hoffman theater near the Eisenhower Ave. metro stop sometime next weekend, assuming it’s still around then. Please, let me know.
Im going to have to disagree. I saw it recently, and even had a brush with the writer, who seemed clueless as to what a horrible film it was. It was slightly, entertaining for a bit, but the cockles of my hear werent even the slightest bit warmed. The acting was reminecent of afterschool specials, the editing seemed like something a begining film student would do, and the story was a little dull quite frankly. If I had paid to see it, I would have asked for my money back.

I liked it. It’s not a deep movie, but it’s not bad. Frank Gorshin was good, and so was Shirley Jones, and it made me smile in general.
OK, Ill give you that I did enjoy Shirley Jones in it. Im not satying its the worst movie ive seen, on the contrary, it was alot better than most of the schlock thats come out. Im just saying that its not as good as it was hyped up to be. My freind’s an assistant manager at a movie theater, and drove out to the nearest reciporacting theater that had it (an hour away) which added to my disappointment. I dunno, not bad, but a let down when you drive that far for it.
