Manx-Sicilian connection?

Have you ever seen the flags of Sicily and the Isle of Mann?

They are strangely similar. Does anyone know what the three legs mean, and if there is a connection between the two regions?

Here’s some info on the triskelion. I don’t know if there’s a connection, other than that it’s an ancient symbol.

This Australian site suggests separate origins for the Sicilian and Manx triskelia. Another site (Wikipedia?) mentions that it was once a symbol for Brittany, adding yet another question to the mix.

Did the ancient greeks have contact with the ancient celts, perhaps?

They did have contact (and sometimes pretty rough contacts) with the Celts, though I’ve no reason to assume the triskel has anything to do with this.
