March 13, 2003 - Spring begins in Oklahoma City

Hey! I was born near The Bayou City! Baytown. we moved a lot…
Today was A Perfect Day™

40° morning, 70° afternoon, light winds (not the 25mph regular ones), partly cloudy.

I worked outside today.

To think that someone would mention Wagoner, Oklahoma in a post, this is something that I thought I would never live to see!!

A sentence made from Oklahoma city names:

“Sallisaw Henrietta Wagoner Catoosa.”

Fun

Oklahoma Spring
Red buds blooming, thunderstorms
Wall clouds threatening

Wasn’t it? It’s supposed to be like most of the week, though there’s a chance of rain later, Thursday or Friday.

But the Bradford Pear trees are blooming around the apartment complex, little white petals are blowing around on the breeze.

Yeah, no kidding. I lived 2 houses from the tracks. Took me 3 weeks to be able to sleep when we moved.

My wife was Porter High, '85.

Hi - I live in Far South Oklahoma - Fort Worth Texas! LOL I grew up in Moore, hubby is from Choctaw. The inlaws now live in Moore and Norman.

We moved to Texas from Phoenix in April 2000 - I was excited that I wouldn’t miss the spring storms! Woo hoo! Nothing like going outside when it turns that weird greenish glow from the storm, and getting hit in the face by dime sized hail…

Lucky you! When I left work yesterday I had to pass by some maintenance guys laying pipe next to the parking lot. Boy, did I envy them having outside work on a day like that!

Of course, come July or August they’ll be envying me getting to sit inside with the A/C on High. And I’ll be grateful for living in modern times.

Oh, and I’m Union High School, class of '94.

(eeek! Reunion next year. I’m calling Weight Watchers right now…)

I saw little drifts of petals blowing across the sidewalk as I went in the sschool today. I just love that!

Today was even a More Perfect DayTM. It was 60 this morn and will be 80 this afternoon. So beautiful! I love to roll all the windows down in my car and let the wind blow all over my son in his carseat. He loves it, too.

Happy Spring, all!
mmm…

I am jealous of all you Okies in the storm (except for the hail damage of course). I was born and bred in Norman (um, go sooners?) just thought I would drop in and say hi.

I was bewildered last night when it started snowing here, but it did remind by of the weather back home, unpredicatable and sporatic. Although those idiots at the weather station will tell you differently.
