I just thought I would put it out here that there will be a march on September 13 here in DC to demand that appropriate measures be taken to ensure everyone has the opportunity to vote and that appropriate measures are taken so that everyone’s vote will be counted. Sponsoring organizations include the Sierra Club, the NAACP, Rainbow/PUSH, AFL-CIO, NOW, and Students United for Equality and Affirmative Action.
The event begins with a rally at Freedom Plaza (14 and Penn) at 11 am, then a march to the Justice Dept. down Constitution will take place. The whole thing should go on until about 2 pm.
I’m just putting this out there if anyone wants to go. I think it’s a worthy cause and I’ll be showing up. Plus, the organization I work for is helping to organize it so it’s not a problem for me getting off work like it will probably be for most people. But maybe some students in the DC area can show up?
