Way to go guys! That was the first SEC tournament championship for Arkansas.
I tried to enter and it gave me a login error. Is the user name ‘Straight Dope’ with a space? Password ‘cecil’? It doesn’t work for me.
No CG. You have to create your own user name and password. Once you’ve done that you sign into the “Straight Dope” group. Give it another try. And don’t feel bad, it took me a while to figure it out, too.
Oh, I didn’t register first. That will probably help. They are giving away $10 million in prizes, people.

So you’d put CGeorge or something like that and invent a password.
Once you’re registered to pick your brackets, THEN you get the option to join a group.

My undergrad alma mater is Kent State, which along with MAC brethern Bowling Green, got screwed out of the tournament. The MAC deserved more than one entry, having 5 teams in the conference with more than 20 wins. The MAC was 5-4 against the Atlantic-10, but the A-10 put 3 teams in the tourney to the MAC’s one. Kent St. beat St. Bonaventure by 13 in their head to head matchup, yet the Bonnies get the big dance and Kent gets nothing.
I’m in!!!
And my alma mater will beat all of yours, except for the simple fact that they aren’t in the tournament and generally stink at basketball anyway.
But, I do look forward to giving all of you the joy of watching my picks win the whole enchilada.

Watch out for freshmen Joe Johnson. If he stays past his sophomore season, he likely will be an All-American.
I have two alma maters in the tourney! LSU and UNC-Wilmington. My allegiance is to LSU (my undergrad school). They should not be a #4 behind Arizona’s #1 in the West. LSU played in a tougher conference, had a better record, and beat Arizona by 26 points earlier this year. They are a lock for the elite 8 (he says with fingers crossed 
).
Overrated: Maryland. Weak conference artificially bolsters record.
Second round upset: Louisville over St. John’s. No matter what they do in regular season, Denny Crum always has the Cardinals ready for tournament play.
I think Indiana (#6) can beat either of the higher-seeded teams in its half of the bracket.
Sleeper pick: Tulsa as a #7 goes to the elite 8.
I love this time of the year. If only Memphis had made it. Then I would be in college hoops heaven!
Question:
Say someone was in an office pool (for entertainment purposes only) and had no clue about college basketball. Does anyone know of a site where someone more savvy then I (as in, a sports commentator) has posted their picks? I need to fill this whole stupid sheet out, and I only know about 4 teams.
