Mariah Carey's new album title.

E=MC^2

LOL! She sounds SO smart. Like, MC = Mariah Carey is square or something…

Who came up with this catchy title?

I believe it was the marketing genius and long term resident of New Jersey, Albert Einstein.

BTW: E=MC[sup]2[/sup] just looks better and matches the album cover better.

:wink:

Jim (Sorry, I actually had an Albert Einstein shirt with his face and the formula of course. )

10 bucks says she can’t name what is represented by any one of those letters.

20 bucks says more than half the US population can’t either.

I would actual take that bet. I would think she would remember at least one of them. The bar is set pretty low on this one.

[Presents her calling card] “Mariah Carey: Super Genius.”

Maybe the title of the song I’ve been seeing plugged is more to the point: “Touch My Body.”

I thought the title had something to do with her last album, The Emancipation of Mimi, like it was the second in a series. Or something.

You’d be surprised.
With a title like that people generally know as much about it as possible, as it’s something they’d be questioned on.

Also you can come down off your high horse, just because she is attractive an successful in the entertainment industry means she can’t know smart people things like you?

I think that’s what her intention was with the “2” representing it being the Second MC album as a follow up to her smash album recently.
She also has stated in a video interview that the physics reference is just a joke, as she’s quite terrible at Math. Still seems like an odd choice of an album title though if you’re not interested in Physics or anything, unless you’re just looking for MC and 2 references and struggling.

E (Emancipation) = MC (Mariah Carey) 2 (part 2/to the next power)

Emancipation is a carryover from her last CD. According to a recent interview, she stated that she feels she’s improving and coming into her own as she’s gotten older and wiser.

Boy are you in the wrong place.

I may have only subscribed recently, but i’ve been reading these boards for a while. I know what this place is like.

It should be E=mc^2 actually. I guess she is excused though, since the initial double use requires them to be caps.

Man, talk about self delusion.

When my girlfriend told me about this, I giggled and added the subtitle “… and 11 other equations she doesn’t understand.”

Or maybe the OP doesn’t think she knows “smart people things” because she comes across as a raging moron whenever she’s interviewed.

The title of her latest album may be silly (if you know her personality that’s to be expected), but IMO she’s entitled to throw a little “HEH heh!” in the faces of everyone who thought her career was over after her much-publicized breakdown six years ago.

Yeah, I don’t see the big deal. Carey’s last album was ridiculously popular and also really good. She recently surpassed Elvis to become the artist with the most #1 singles (18) in the “rock era” (whatever that means).

Frankly, I wouldn’t be too concerned about physics if I were her, either. I don’t see her claiming to by a scientist anywhere or anything.

I think it’s clever (with or without her being knowledgeable about physics).

Knowing the “MC” part refers to Mariah Carey (the woman depicted there), I feel she could have left well enough alone and not plastered “Mariah” across the bottom.

“claiming to by a scientist”? Heheheh. I can imagine all sorts of ways to “correct” that sentence.

The E=MC2 formula was very prominently displayed when she appeared on American Idol last night, incidentally.

I think Disney could have used it better for Hannah Montana:
E=MC^2 (Earnings=Miley Cyrus ^2)

It sure beats the heck out of Britney Spears album title: “A whole lotta B.S.”
